I just checked USGS EQ site and a Lrg box appeared with Red X (undetermined
mag) on main page linked below. No more tan a min later I brought it up
again to see if they got mag yet...and it was Removed from this page.
I went to CA pg to check it out again (it was below Redding in the Corning area)
copied the info this time...all of this time they had Depth but NO mag?
They're gunna 'tweek' it again! Downplay in process! So what's new!?
***Just checked Again and they STILL don't have it!!**&

I've seen them around 250 a day go up to 1600 a day just 4+ weeks ago (obviously 4+ weeks appear to be more like 9+ weeks ). I watched them during the tsunami in 2004 and saw the earth rattle before the tsunami was announced.
It really is an interesting site for not other reason than you see hidden things coming to light.
I want others to see the changes, not for any reason than something is happening and you can only see the symptoms.
Earthquakes down to 718

Nothing had happened to create these numbers, notice the china quakes hit 5/12/2008. This didn't happen with the tsunami quake, the numbers didn't increase until after the quake.
I like science and love to hear "all the know it all's" tell you their assumptions. All I can say is that "I don't know" is a valid answer. At this time it's also the most intelligent since some just don't have the answer.

I have watched while 100 eq's at a time were dropped

this since 2003. BTW that eq I was alluding to in CA
has been entirely dropped. 17mi depth. It must have

I pulled up USGS.gov and tried to get them excited about their study using existing data. We plotted earthquakes for a few weeks until the school lesson was over, they dropped it but I've stayed with it since. They graduated and I'm still attached to earthquakes, it really is funny as all their friends have come to know me as the Earthquake mom. (I can guarantee, don't make me mad)
Anyway, the usgs site is the best I've got, but match that with the seismic site and you can at least see if anything of major interest is happening.

there are far too many occurrences like this. the other day there were two 4+ mags not far from Toba that neither the Iris or USGS sites were showing, but lesser sites were.

Yes it is, because I know geologists, and I know a few who
work for the USGS. They make a LOT less money doing what
they do than they could in the oil and gas industry because
they are doing what they love. How can you think that people
like that are complicit in a vast conspiracy? I bet you don't
even know any of them. You are making assumptions based on
paltry information. You give cursory glaces at charts and
think you are an expert. Compared to these people who have
spent at least 4 years in study and who knows how much doing
their job you come along and cast dispersions on them for
no damned reason than it placates your paranoia.
I think that sucks for you to judge these people like that.
Tell ya what, if you can tell me the difference between
Ms and Mb on a quake report I will begin to have at least
a little bit more respect for your opinion. Otherwise you
don't have a clue. "It's kinda like creating a carpool lane on the internet, except instead of

I don't have a clue and I'm not too proud to admit it. I've been watching the EMSC site for sometime now and always wondered what those abbreviations stood for. (ML, MD, mb, Mw, etc.)
Also, they give the depth in kilometers, but occasionally I'll see a depth listed as something like '10f'. What is that?
Could you please explain to a novice EQ watcher?
Thanks! |

Check out the depth of the China EQs and also the "odd ball" quakes that are not along major plates - all are 6.2 miles deep. I have been charting them for months. I have been watching when the radar is down near the haarp grids and believe they are using Tesla's resonance to produce the quakes. Recent ones close to the grid (won't say where this grid is) are 3.1 miles deep - 1/2 what the quakes far away from it are. This is my only post - call it Fear! |

Also, the calcs for EACH type of event (ML, Ms, Mb, Mw, ect...) are different. You get a slightly different answer for each. Part of the reason for a single event there's multiple different reported magnitudes.
ML= magnitude local, is the original calc that Richter came up with. It has limits, and is often used improperly. Max mag is like 6, if memory serves correct. I'm not feeling like looking it's exact parameters up right now. It also has depth limits.
Mw= magnitude moment, is what USGS uses most for a number of years now. It also has it's limits, like something more likely to be felt in the mid 3 range is the lowest it can be trusted. I don't believe it has depth limits.
link for more info if you want to look it up.
[link to earthquake.usgs.gov]
as to the depth questions/concerns. 6.2 miles=10km approx... 10km is a default depth for multiple situations when the depth was not well determined. This happens really often in mid-ocean earthquakes, and sometime in mid-continent, especially in areas that US wasn't welcome in the 80's and 90's (China, Russia aka USSR pre 80's, etc....) Shallow earthquake is determined as less than 33km or about 20.3 miles. The most dangerous are the ones in the upper 10km, which included the China Mw7.9.
hope that helps. |
