OIL and IRAN - Are you aware of the history?
For those who are not familiar with the history or for those who do not have enough time or willingness to research, following is a brief time line of major ‘events’ in Iran starting with oil history and bringing us to date. It's quite an interesting read for those who are unaware.

Spreading 'democracy' for oil, indeed.

1901 – May: William Knox D'Arcy of England was granted a concession by the Shah of Iran to search for oil

1908: Oil was found by D’Arcy’s company Burmah Oil Company Ltd.

1909: Burmah Oil Company Ltd. created the AnI suckersian Oil Company (APOC) as a subsidiary and D’Arcy was made director

1935: APOC became the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC). The Iranians opposed the agreements with AIOC and the desire for nationalization became intense leading up to 1951.

1951 – March: Pro-western Prime Minister Ali Razmara of Iran was assassinated and Iranian nationalist Mohammed Mossadeq was elected as prime minister, and Time magazine named Mossadeq “Man of the Year”

1951 – April: Iranian oil industry was nationalized by unanimous vote. Britain objected and appealed to the International Court of Justice at The Hague, but its complaint was dismissed. (Britain objected...that cracks me up)

1953: Iranian coup d’etat by CIA and British SIS. In August, Mossadeq was forced from office by the military coup and was replaced by pro-Western general Fazlollah Zahedi

The Shah, who had left the country briefly to await the outcome of the coup, returned to Iran. He abolished the democratic Constitution and assumed autocratic powers and was fully supported by the US and Britain.

1954: The AIOC became the British Petroleum Company and British control of oil operations in Iran was reestablished.

The Iranian public was so against the move that the gov. was forced to negotiate an international consortium under the nationalized name the National Iranian Oil Company.

British Petro was just one member and held 40% of the shares. 40% went to the five major American companies. 14% went to Royal Dutch Shell. 6% went to Compagnie Française des Pétroles. The consortium agreed to share profits on a 50-50 basis with Iran, but not to open its books to Iranian auditors or to allow Iranians onto its board of directors.

BP continued to operate in Iran until the Islamic Revolution in 1979 when the Shah was overthrown.

1953 – 1979: During the Shah's rule, he was determined to “modernize Iran virtually overnight and at any cost led to cultural shock, alienation of the masses, inflation, corruption, economic bottlenecks, massive urbanization, rising expectations and increasing authoritarianism in dealing with these social, economic and political problems. He used secret, torturous police, the Savak, to control the country. Iranian nationalists condemned his U.S. supported regime and his "westernizing" of Iran.

During rioting in 1963, the Shah cracked down, suppressing his opposition. Among those arrested and exiled was a popular religious nationalist and bitter foe of the United States, the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. By the late 1970s, the Shah's opponents, of all political affiliations, united behind Ayatollah Khomeini.”

1979: The Shah was overthrown in 1979 by the Islamic Revolution, which was headed by Ayatollah Khomeini. The Shah left the country and Ayatollah Khomeini returned to Iran. (Research Iranian or Islamic Revolution for more details).

1979 – April: There was a national referendum with only one question: Islamic Republic, Yes or No. The result is reported as a “landslide victory” for an Islamic Republic (98.2% majority vote). After 2,500 years of monarchy, Iran's government was changed to a theocratic republic, The Islamic Republic of Iran. Ayatollah Khomeini became the “supreme spiritual leader” of Iran and a constitution was created.
[link to www.iranchamber.com]

OIL: The new regime of Ayatollah Khomeini confiscated all of BP's assets in Iran without compensation, finally closing BP's 70-year presence in Iran.

1979 – November: The Shah was admitted in the US for medical treatment, which caused anger amongst Iranians thinking that this was an opening move to return the Shah to power (a repeat of 1953). In opposition, Ayatollah Khomeini called for street demonstrations against the US. One of the demonstrations resulted in radical Iranian students seizing the United States Embassy complex in Tehran taking 63 American hostages. Three more U.S. citizens were taken prisoner at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, for a total of 66 hostages. The hostages were held captive for 444 days.

Immediate official American reactions involved halting oil exports from Iran, expelling many Iranians living in the U.S., and freezing Iranian government assets and investments.

1980 – April: President Carter ordered a military rescue mission code-named "Operation Eagle Claw." This mission was a total and complete failure resulting in the deaths of eight U.S. military personnel.

1981 – January: Negotiations between Iran and the U.S. culminated in a deal that released the hostages and the eight billion dollars worth of frozen Iranian assets. Moments after Ronald Reagan took the oath of office on January 20, 1981, the hostages were allowed to fly out of Iran after 444 days of captivity.

1980-1988: Iran-Iraq war “began when Iraq invaded Iran on 22 September 1980 following a long history of border disputes and fears of Shia insurgency among Iraq's long suppressed Shia majority influenced by Iran's Islamic revolution. Although Iraq hoped to take advantage of revolutionary chaos in Iran and attacked without formal warning, they made only limited progress into Iran and within several months were repelled by the Iranians who regained virtually all lost territory by June 1982.

For the next six years Iran was on the offensive. Despite several calls for a ceasefire by the United Nations Security Council, hostilities continued until 20 August 1988. The last prisoners of war were exchanged in 2003.”

The U.S. supported Saddam Hussein and funded Iraq’s efforts against Iran. However, this was also the time of the Iran-Contra Affair whereby it was/is controversially claimed that the US authorized Israel to sell weapons to Iran in exchange for the release of hostages by Hezbollah in Lebanon. Oh, what a tangled web we do weave…which leads me back to our founding fathers’ warning of entangling alliances…

1979 – 2008: Iran has had six elected presidents; Ahmadinejad was elected in 2005. Iran’s oil is still nationalized; however, they do have strategic alliances with players such as China.

2004 - China has signed an agreement to buy more than 110 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Iran over 25 years, which could be the largest LNG purchase deal in the world, and to develop Iran's Yadavaran oil field. As part of the deal, China is allowed to buy stakes in Iranian oil and gas fields.

2008: Well, it seems the US is again on the verge of another coup for oil and control. The Chinese, however, may have something to say about that.

Re: OIL and IRAN - Are you aware of the history?
I actually remember seeing a lot of this on television. Unfortunately people love self supporting truths rather than documented truths. Nature of the beast if you will.

I also remember documents at the time of the attempted rescue, the failure pointing to Reagan and Co. having deliberately sabotaged the rescue effort in an attempt make sure carter didn't get elected again. The more you read about these folks and the interlocking relationships the more concerned you become. Worse yet a person might even begin to despair. You realize the people's apathy and lack of concern and the desire to serve self. Many who might even know would gladly serve their will (as enforcers of unjust laws and acts) so that they wouldn't be found in company with us, the folks on the receiving end.

Lol, Iran, Venezuela, and all the other folks not willing to sell their souls out... You will be made an example to all others contemplating the exercise of free thought and will.

Misc. stuff below.

@@@@@@@@@@@

George H.W. Bush served as Gerald Ford’s Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) from November 1975 to January 1977. As head the CIA, Bush was answerable only to President Ford. He was supposedly the first CIA “outsider” to hold the agency's top position. During his tenure as DCI he maintained a policy of disinformation and secrecy, despite a public show of cooperation with congressional investigations of CIA abuses such as assassination plots using Mafia hit men. In September 1976, Chilean dissident leader Orlando Letelier was assassinated in Washington D.C. by agents of DINA, Chile’s secret police. The CIA knew of such plots, and the two assassins entered the U.S. using fake Paraguayan passports. But the FBI was kept in the dark about this information.

Yes, AC, I have recently noticed that Westerners, especially Americans, have a great tendency to start Iranian-American history at the point of the "Hostage Crisis" while screaming victim and demonizing Iran....to the point, in their minds, of justifying WWWIII.

As the writer of the Operation Ajax piece expressed, if we had another country invading us and overthrowing our government against the people's will merely to serve the invader's purposes, what would be our response?

It's sad that either people do not understand history, or worse, they decide to ignore simply to support an agenda or a tightly held belief - religious, national pride, other. Our educational system is partly to blame. Apathy, arrogance and breaking through a lifetime of additional brainwashing psy ops are other culprits.

Lol, Iran, Venezuela, and all the other folks not willing to sell their souls out... You will be made an example to all others contemplating the exercise of free thought and will.

The biggest catastrophe ever to befall Iran was 'the Islamic revolution'

Ayatollah Khomeini: Ten Quotes by the Father of the Islamic Republic of Iran

“An Islamic regime must be serious in every field,”
“There are no jokes in Islam.
There is no humour in Islam.
There is no fun in Islam.”

“Yes, we are reactionaries, and you are enlightened intellectuals: You intellectuals do not want us to go back 1400 years. You, who want freedom, freedom for everything, the freedom of parties, you who want all the freedoms, you intellectuals: freedom that will corrupt our youth, freedom that will pave the way for the oppressor, freedom that will drag our nation to the bottom.”

“A man can have sex with animals such as sheeps, cows, camels and so on. However, he should kill the animal after he has his orgasm. He should not sell the meat to the people in his own village; however, selling the meat to the next door village should be fine.”

“America is the great Satan, the wounded snake.”
“If one commits the act of sodomy with a cow, an ewe, or a camel, their urine and their excrements become impure, and even their milk may no longer be consumed. The animal must then be killed and as quickly as possible and burned.”

“This regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time.”

“If one permits an infidel to continue in his role as a corrupter of the earth, his moral suffering will be all the worse. If one kills the infidel, and this stops him from perpetrating his misdeeds, his death will be a blessing to him.”

“A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual act such as forplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed.”

“We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah. For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land [Iran] burn. I say let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world.”

“The author of the Satanic Verses book, which is against Islam, the Prophet and the Koran, and all those involved in its publication who were aware of its content, are sentenced to death. I ask all Moslems to execute them wherever they find them.”

Shiaism is forbidden according to the quran:

30:32
(transliteration)
Mina allatheena farraqoo deenahum wakanoo shiyaAAan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoona.

Translation
[or] among those who have broken the unity of their faith and have become sects, each group delighting in but what they themselves hold [by way of tenets].

ShiyaAAan = "sects".
Read - for thy sustainer is the most bountiful one, who has taught the use of the pen, taught man what he did not know!
Nay verily man becomes grossly overweening, whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: for behold unto thy sustainer all must return.

I don't know how I originally overlooked your post above, but I just watched the vid tonight. That is a great piece! Many thanks for contributing it.

I don't agree with the Peak Oil theory; however, I do agree with needing alternatives.

Outside that, Newman lays it on the line with the history. I highly recommend Aaron's vid to everyone. Take the time to watch; you won't be disappointed, and ya just might learn a few things.

A, Newman goes on my share list.

Well not to justify the US Britain actions in regards to Iran. Their actions were inexcusable. The main source of the problem was with BP or Anglo American at that time. Although hey did do the exploration and built the facilities they screwed Iran and Iranian workers out of pure greed. They were giving like 16% of the net profits. Iran tried to renegotiate and BP would not budge. The blame always seem to squarely land on the US but the brits were more at fault here even though America does not get a pass IMO.

Mossadeq was kind of stuck and started buddying up to Russia and thats what brought the US to the table. The cold war was raging and the US did not want Russia to gain a stronghold in what was a pro western gov.He not only nationalized oil he also turned all the domestic farmlands into cooperative farms owned by the goverment. He also was leaning towards the Tudeh party and support of communism. He publicly declared Britain an enemy and cut off all diplomatic ties. Again Im not trying to defend the US position in this but look at the actions and reactions. The Brits have quite a bit more culpability in this than US. After WW2 though the brits and US have been inseperable.

Here take a look at this article in regards to Iran during WWII.

"At the outbreak of World War II, Iran declared its neutrality, but the country was soon invaded by both Britain and the Soviet Union. Britain had been annoyed when Iran refused Allied demands that it expel all German nationals from the country. When Hitler invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, the Allies urgently needed to transport war matériel across Iran to the Soviet Union, an operation that would have violated Iranian neutrality. As a result, Britain and the Soviet Union simultaneously invaded Iran on August 26, 1941, the Soviets from the northwest and the British across the Iraqi frontier from the west and at the head of the Persian Gulf in the south. Resistance quickly collapsed. Reza Shah knew the Allies would not permit him to remain in power, so he abdicated on September 16 in favor of his son, who ascended the throne as Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. Reza Shah and several members of his family were taken by the British first to Mauritius and then to Johannesburg, South Africa, where Reza Shah died in July 1944.

Why can't we be like China..

Business is business.

Shit related to the Old Testicle is ignored by China.

And they prosper.

They don't have Threat level "orange" or whatever.

Their airports announce flight information, not "threat levels" <again>

Separation of church and state in the USA.

BULLSHIT.

Lets do business like China does business.
silence is golden....

hey TX PATRIOT

I have been looking for the source of this quote by GHWBush

Thread: "If the American people knew what we have done, they would string us up from the lamp posts."

Do you know where it cmae from?

Floydian, I believe this is the correct quote that has become morphed; however, I haven't conducted due diligence to confirm it. HTH

"...if the American people had ever known the truth about what we Bushes have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched."

Absolutely. IMO, the US is and has been the military arm of England.

If you have the time and a haven't seen it already, watch the vid (provided by Aaron), The History of Oil. I believe you will appreciate his teachings of Iraq, Iran, the US and England.

Here is another informative essay (credit goes to Redheaded Stepchild) that might be of interest to someone who wants to connect the dots. Pay close attention to the players and the pipelines:

anyone interested in the OP's info.

Robert Newman's History of Oil [part 1 of 9]
[link to www.youtube.com]

Laugh and learn!

The brilliant Robert Newman comes to grips with the wars and politics of the last hundred years - but rather than adhering to the history we were fed at school, places oil at the center stage of all the cause of all commotion.

Aaron, I just returned to this older thread to grab a link, and I ended up re-reading all the posts.

Re: OIL and IRAN - Are you aware of the history?
I always thought war was for power and control.

I'm just putting myself in the shoes of the illumaniti.

What I would do, is make another country subservient to my desires, wishes and needs. In order to accomplish this the country needs be be "taken over", provided the motive is already in place, whether it be oil or gold or human beings.

The target country will thus be "taken over" by either conquest or consent.

From my point of view, consent is accomplished with the promise of the illusion we call freedom, and by warping people's own logical brains around themselves, in a destructive "time loop", and conquest is accomplished with the use of hot steel and lead.

The "time loop" seems to me to be the most effective means. Using our own fear against us, in a never ending cycle of non-sense, termed "the preservance of freedom".

The War on Terrorism... Operation Iraqi Freedom...

Let's make everybody think we're "freeing" them. That's soooo far from the truth, I just want to puke.

That's just my two cents.
