Thanks for the information. Raising sheep as I do, it would be a good thing to know how to cure the skins.

I have tanned rattlesnake skins for years with a Tandy Leather tanning preparation, but those skins are small and easy to work. Makes good hatbands.

There is also a recipe for tanning using your washing machine and uses Tide detergent and alum. Maybe I can find it again.
