=== WORLDWIDE MOST EXPENSIVE VILLA SOLD for 640 Million USD - PICS
Quote

Villefranche sur Mer, French Cote d"Azur

The Russian Oligarch Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea, bought this "little" cabin for 400 Million Euros = 640 Million USD. The most expensive private house in the world. You need min. 50 employees to keep the house and the gardens. Among former owners Giovanni Agnelli, FIAT and FERRARI owner, Bill Gates, Edmond Safra (Banker from Switzerland). The Villa was constructed for the former belgian King Leopold's chicks. Villa Leopolda is the name of the house.

these kinds of properties sold for that kind of money are usually fronts for embezzlement and/or tax evasion.

Also he's bought it at EXACTLY the wrong time of year.

Also he sounds like a size queen.

and he still looks like a filthy, guilty jew.

I could do $550 million but $640,000,000 is a little too much.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice, but 640 mil? Hardly seems anywhere near that price. 20 mil maybe. Would go for something like that in CA.

No not really, I could think of many other villas in the area for 10 million euros that would be sufficient for my needs. I couldn't deal with 50 people milling about with mowers and strimmers keeping a garden to palace standards, hardly conducive to a nice relaxing seaside holiday.

I am right about property deals at this end of the market, it happens everywhere. Private individuals are allowed to pay what they like above the market value for property for numerous reasons with little or no investigation. Even British royalty are at it:

"Now it has emerged that his house, Sunninghill – a 1986 marriage gift from the Queen – has been sold for about £3 million over the odds to an energy magnate from Kazakhstan, a country he has visited on official business three times since 2003, and on more occasions in private."

It is the wrong time of year to buy a property such as this, because ideally you would take ownership in spring after completing the sale in winter thus enabling you to enjoy early summer and late summer, which can go well into september on the riviera. If he had intended to rent the property for 150,000 a week he has also missed the boat on doing that this summer.

If you are getting all butthurt about my jew comment, I said he LOOKED not that he WAS.

The story of this sale is probably just posturing and power games. it is vastly over valued and he is too shrewd a customer to get stung like this.
