I had googled this already and couldn't find anything. I sort of considered this my last chance for information. |

Were you close to it, or looking at it from a distance? Did it move? Was there a thunderstorm going on? And how big was it? Yes, plasma or ball lightning can make a snapping or sizzling sound. |

No, not me. This happened to my sister. She and her husband had gone to bed. Her husband was asleep, and she was still awake when she heard a clicking noise. Basically, a large lime-green (glowing with sparkles in it) blob came up from the foot of the bed and slid/traveled up over them for a few seconds. Then it went away. This has not happened again. |

She doesn't remember any other sort of activity going on (I did ask about the thunderstorms/etc.,) says it was just a normal, cold January night.
Shortly after this, her husband got sick and died during that same month. She has wondered ever since then if there was a connection. (This happened about 20 years ago, btw.) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 468896 7/16/2008 12:05 AM | | Re: paranormal question | Quote | Interesting. Did the blob or the sparkles in it seem to give off light? It sounds alien to me.
I used to rent the top floor of an old victorian and wasn't there long. Here's why I moved.
At night I would awake to a bright light beam that seemed to be coming from a hole in the ceiling although the ceiling/roof had no holes in it. I would feel subdued and would pull the covers over my head as the light seemed to search around the bedroom like a search light. My dog laying at the side of my bed seemed subdued also and would lay there and just growl.
In the morning everything was normal with the ceiling and the rest of the room.
This happened frequently for about a month. No one believed me. One night I got the courage to peek out of the covers and the light had turned to a lime green coil that was whipping around the room. It did have a noise but not exactly clicking, more like a boiling water noise.
That did it. I closed off the bedroom and I slept on the couch after that and moved ASAP. There's a rumor that has been around this town for years that one of the old houses has a UFO base underneath it and UFOs have been seen coming up from under the foundation of the house. But no one I had talked to knew where the house was. For all I know I had the misfortune to rent the UFO house.
Your sister's green blob sounds like the green coil that I saw. |

A heart attack was the actual cause of death, but he had been sick for a couple of weeks before that. Location was mid-south United States. Rural area - she couldn't get him to go to a larger hospital for tests.
I have wondered if this was a sort of premonition, and when I mentioned this she said she had wondered this, too. |

That's an interesting thought. Rather comforting, actually. Thanks. |

I posted this rather late last night, and received several interesting/informative replies. This is basically a search for information--if anyone has any information--or even just speculation--I'd be interested in it. Thanks. |

What did the husband say about the experience? Was he awake at all? Report any strange dreams?
There is another similar story about how cats can sit on the chest at night and "draw the breath out" through the mouth and kill a person. |
