DMSO
Does anyone else take this orally? This is my sixth day taking it and the results are good.

I am not dead yet. Should I expect to die from this soon? I think not.

Opinions requested.

Re: DMSO
DMSO is a strong organic solvent. For years it has been used for cleaning sewing machine parts.

Are you taking this orally?

When I ran cross-country in college, we used to get it from sewing machine repair shops. We would dissolve aspirin in it and apply it topically to areas where we had tendonitis.

This served to transfer the dissolved anti-inflammatory drug directly to the affected tissue.

DMSO is READILY aborbed by the skin.

Even though we only used it topically, it always left a taste of oysters or garlic in our mouths.

We were always cautioned NOT to take it orally.

It wasn't cleared for use in humans by the FDA at the time.

Has this changed, I wonder.

Are you taking it orally?

Re: DMSO
yes I am taking it orally. No it has not been approved by the FDA.

It has certainly helped my injuries (when I have one) when applied to the skin. But it has been even more transforming taking it orally. This is very risky but it seems to work well for me.

Just wonder if anyone else is playing with fire like me. I like living on the edge. And I smell a conspiracy related to DMSO...or it might just be that garlic smell.

Darkman, please tell us what you are taking it for, how it helped, how fast it helped. More detail, please! thanks.

Re: DMSO
I am taking it for general health primarily. I have also noticed that my energy level has not been where it used to be. I need A LOT of energy to do the things I enjoy doing.

I came across the above website shortly after joining this forum. I took my first dose last Sunday. I had to look for hours just to find any indication of what sort of dose to take. I finally found something that said to take 1 teespoon. I took 1/2 teespoon. Once on Sunday. On Monday I took 1/2 teespoon twice at different times. At 5:00 pm I was tired and feeling like I had a cold. This would have alarmed me but I "felt" that I was getting rid of toxins in my body. I went to sleep at 6 pm Monday and woke up Tuesday at 6 am and felt great. I got tired once more Tuesday morning and took an hour nap.

From then on, I have felt great. I take a teespoon either 2 or 3 times a day. I feel like I am thinking much more clearly now as well as having plenty of energy.

The taste and side-effects associated with the odor could be a problem for some. I do not smell very different than I did. My wife says she can tell I smell slightly different but can't put her finger on the smell but it is not a bad smell.

I am happy to answer more. And am happy to hear opinions of others.

Oh, I am taking DMSO with liquid MSM. So the combination might be doing the trick.

Re: DMSO
you're taking it ORALLY???

oh man that's nasty.

When i worked at the vet's office we used DMSO for cats with bladder stones. There were something you could mix with it (can't recall what) that would dissolve the stones.

But we were always cautioned that it absorbs into the skin quickly. Also it takes anything on your skin with it.
If you have bug repellent, cleaning supplies, whatever on your skin that stuff will get absorbed with the dmso.

I don't see how you stand the taste.

I got some one me once and the shellfish taste was horrid.

shill...here is your website. Why would someone show up to debunk DMSO and use a wesite that doesn't exist? A real shill wouldn't be this stupid. Maybe a 9th grader.

lol, the taste is out of this world terrible. I was mixing it with V-8 juice for the first two days. I began to hate the thought of drinking V-8 which I loved before then. Now I mix 1 teespoon DMSO with about 20 teespoons of pure lemon juice and shoot it. I'm pretty used to that taste now and my love for V-8 juice is back.

I have a book here, "DMSO - The Complete Up-To-Date Guidebook" which says that although taking DMSO internally is not recommended, it is not poisonous and even if you drank a whole pint it wouldn't kill you.

I think the book might be kind of hard to find, it's by
Dr. David G. Williams.

I think a quart is the accepted lethal dose.

From Wikipedia..."In cryobiology DMSO has been used as a cryoprotectant and is still an important constituent of cryoprotectant vitrification mixtures used to preserve organs, tissues, and cell suspensions. Without it, up to 90 percent of frozen cells will become inactive. It is particularly important in the freezing and long-term storage of embryonic stem cells and hematopoietic stem cells, which are often frozen in a mixture of 10% DMSO and 90% fetal calf serum. As part of an autologous bone marrow transplant the DMSO is re-infused along with the patient's own hematopoietic stem cells."

So the ironic thing about saying DMSO will cause liver failure is...if it did and I did get a new liver it would be stored with DMSO in the solution or it would die.

I love irony.

Taking it for what?

DMSO is NOT a 'drug' in itself, and is designed ONLY to help drugs get into your system more easily.

Applying an ice pack for a minute or two after the DMSO will greatly reduce or even eliminate the garlic taste for most people.

Hiya Darkman, I know nothing about this but would be very dubious about taking something without knowing the full side-effects. Why don't you send Grey Lensman a pm message..he's great on all homeopathic/holistic treatments and is bound to be able to advise you of the dangers or benefits of DMSO.

Re: DMSO
It's about time we had a thread about DMSO! This solution was discovered many years ago to be a marvelous pain killer. I bought mine from the following link, which has a lot of info about DMSO, and another pain killer, WOOD LOCK - Medicated Balm, for sore muscles. I haven't had to use the DMSO yet because the WOOD LOCK works really well.

[link to www.dmso-use.com]

I'd like to know more about the internal application of DMSO. I am aware that DMSO takes everything on the skin into the bloodstream, but I haven't read of any serious casualties regarding its use. Also, when used in conjuntion with chemotherapy, less medication is needed, as DMSO maximizes the effectiveness of chemo treatments.

Re: DMSO
While I think that people should do as much reading and research as possible before they do experiments on their health, I also feel you should compare the risks of trying an alternative health regimen with the risks of prescription drugs. I think my mom has almost died 4 times now from "Adverse Drug Reactions" from the different combinations of her prescriptions which have also seriously reduced her liver function. No one seems particularly outraged about it except me, so I just let them do what they are going to do after my initial outbursts.

For alternative treatments like herbs, supplements, vitamins and minerals, and other experiments like DMSO and hydrogen peroxide, etc., if you pay attention and aren't reckless I don't see how it's any more of a risk than taking most over the counter drugs like acetominaphen (sp?) which really and truly will harm your internal organs, it's known, but they still sell it and everyone has some at home.

Re: DMSO
thanks for the replies. I am keeping this experiment under control. It is very gradual. And noone has died from DMSO intake (imo). I think there was a death in England of a woman that was taking DMSO orally in the 60's or 70's. That scared the shit out of our establishment and experiments stopped. It was later determined that she died of other causes but the damage to DMSO research was done.

Big Pharma cannot make money off of DMSO because it is virtually free. There is a 60 Minutes youtube done back around 1980ish. Check it out. I'll find the links in a bit.

I just did a search on Oral DMSO and came up with a dandy website. This stuff is used medically for just about everything, and has suggested dosages.

I have 99.9% pure DMSO that should be reduced to about 30% for oral ingestion and 50% for topical application. Once you know how to use it, it will be a superior addition to the medicine cabinet.
