21/07/08 "Huffington Post" -- -- Wake up, America!
On July 15, the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled by 5 votes to 4 in the case of Al-Marri v. Pucciarelli (PDF) that the president can arrest US citizens and legal residents inside the United States and imprison them indefinitely, without charge or trial, based solely on his assertion that they are "enemy combatants." Have a little think about it, and you'll see that the Fourth Circuit judges have just endorsed dictatorial powers.

Something doesn't smell right here. The US Supreme Court trumps the appeals courts. And the US Supreme Court affirmed the right of the detainees at Gitmo to have at least a court review. Now someone's trying to claim that an appeals court, after the fact, has ruled that alleged 'enemy combatants' who are US citizens, taken into custody on US soil, are to receive less judicial review than those at Gitmo? I call BS. |

for me i came not from the us, as you see in my writing/spelling style on it, but i fuly agree with the author an coauthors of this article.
on here where i live ( in the center of europe ) where get verry pissed about the actions, who your goverment/leader doing and ours doingt it ( also about our leaders who dont have the eggs to repell it)...
its clearly to see, hows the chessgame going on for it, for everyone of us.

The provisions of Martial Law, the Patriot Act, and several other laws, executive orders and court decisions have long granted POTUS the "legal" ability to detain any individual for any duration of time, including the remainder of ones life. Detained citizens don't have the Constitutional guaranteed right to a fair trial any longer. That means Bush or any other official only has to claim you're a "terrorist," without any proof, and you're whisked away to an eternity of being caged, and receiving hellish treatment.
They say that in the American justice system, you're innocent until proven guilty. But like so many other claims, it's an outright lie - straight propaganda. You are in-fact guilty, without chance to defend yourself, forever. No trial, not evidence - just guilty. It's an outrageous trampling of the Constitution, human rights, and all that is decent. And this is far from being the sole example of the corrupt travesty which has formed into the current regime in control. Yet there's still so, so many brainwashed, idiot citizens who will not only defend the US government on these issues, but will become absolutely infuriated at the thought of you having a problem with these things.
America is the land of "the land of the free, home of the brave" you say? What freedom? You live under the ILLUSION of freedom. Your rulers can do anything and everything they want to you and everyone else under their control. Just because you're not in the gulags now, doesn't mean that means your free - because they could send you there, they could send you anywhere, do anything to you - and it's completely "legal" and within their "legitimate" power.
