WoW! This IS bizzar!

Nothing in the article(s) mentioned "changing them at the end of their shift" or " happen to forget that they leave the area with the actual device".

Wow, this is bizzare. 4 officers, on duty, charged with maintaining nuclear launch codes and then changing them at the end of their shift, "happen to" forget that they leave the area with the actual device? What was the next shift going to use?

Whatttt????

Nobody jumped on this???

"Four officers had completed the process of changing the codes for the system underground in the launch control center and had returned topside to the large living center, which looks much like a ranch house inside and includes six bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining area, gym and a security control center for security forces airmen, according to Air Force officials.

While waiting for permission to bring the device back to base, the three officers with the code component in their possession fell asleep. The fourth officer was not present."

WTF happened to the fourth officer???

Has he/she been found? questioned???

Did he/she let loose the gas???

Now I see it. thx!

When I was just an E4 in the Army, we had to check out our comsec with the WO before our shift and turn it back in at the end of our shift, no matter what day of the week it was.
Today, on a nuclear sub, it takes 2 officers to unlock the safe to get the launch codes. And here is 4 Air Force officers with "the" device that changes the nuclear launch codes, that happen to forget they have it and go home? Or as some news reports say, they left the base and fell asleep at a "rest stop".
Oh, and as stated, one officer is unaccounted for.
WTF?

I know. It makes you wonder. One guy falling asleep...while on duty...in an active military installation...MAYBE. But all three? Hmmm

I'm with you, all 3 falling asleep at the same time.....unless they all had bad hangovers or something, it's still too weird.

Seem to be setting the stage, a back story for when other screw ups should occur.

"er...sorry sir, it just fell off the wing...honest."

the only reason we are discussing this, is because THEY gave us the story.

They were clearly drugged. Versed is a drug of consious sedation that makes a person cooperative, but not remember anything later.

It is used by those dentist for the terrified, and for medical procedures such as G.I. series. It is available in pill and inject forms.

No chance that four officers just happen to goof off on the same day, and then all be confused.

Yes, I agree, it would never make it to Fox unless TPTB wanted the info leaked on purpose. Those poor officers were drugged so that they could be blamed for the horrific disaster soon to come.

Minot comes up a lot. I was thinking about the meaning of the word itself...

Mi·not, George Richards 1885-1950.
American physician. He shared a 1934 Nobel Prize for discovering that a diet of liver relieves anemia. (So he is the bastard that got my Mother to force feed us that shit).

3 bushels = 1 minot (I got nothing except the song I heard in church; "hide it under a bushel no, I'm gonna let it shine")

3 bushels, hmmmmm. 3 airmen. I swear, one can go nuts trying to figure out what is REALLY going on behind the scenes.

Nice job, some really good posts on this thread and tying it back to Diablo is excellent info to be aware of.

Does it guarantee and event?

NOPE.

Do we have to be always vigilant because of their SOP ala 9-11 7-11 and others?

My question is, how bold will terrorists become at the public exposure of our military's ineptitude? I think we know the answer...

The military isnt inept at all.
Secured places whether military
or civilian for that matter are
always heavily monitored and wired
for sight and sound.
Also the higher the security level
the higher the chances that
once you are in
you may not be permitted to leave.

OK point taken, I exaggerated the claim. I guess, I would re-state: with the three disclosed breaches of protocol and near treasonous lapses at Minot, I would say that terrorists could infer that those lapses may be present at other bases as well, and be therefore emboldened to perpetrate crimes against humanity on our shores again.

I don't mean to impugn the entire military, whom I support, but these successive breaches - that we know of - are troublesome.
