A Look Ahead Part 1
6 Eclipses in 2009

I don't know if you remember, but I wrote in a previous newsletter that in 1935, we had 5 eclipses; and that some say these eclipses were the harbingers of WWII.

"The usual number of eclipses in a year is 4; some years there can be 5, 6 and even 7. The year 2008 is the last of a block of six years of the usual 4-eclipse kind. Next year (2009) there will be SIX eclipses. The first set of 2009 eclipses will occur in January/February; the second set will occur in July/August (with 3 eclipses). Then, at the very end of the year (New Year's Eve) one eclipse of a third eclipse season will squeeze in; hence the 3 eclipses." - Joe Rao, Astronomical Calendar 2008

I'm not even going to comment on that, allright? Draw your own conclusions after ruminating on this info for a while:) Ok, just one remark, I can't resist! I think 2009 is going to be a very exciting time of growth and change. It is, after all, the 6th day of the Mayan Calendar; and, according to Carl Calleman, the 'Days' are when growth spurts occur after the resting/integration period of the 'Nights'. (We are currently in the 5th Night.) Meanwhile, I'll think about all of this tomorrow:)

A Look Ahead Part 2
September 2008 - January 2009
As the 2008 Eclipse Season comes to a close, the lightning-bolt-fire-and-ice of the February eclipses, and the Aquarian bonfire of the August eclipses settle into our body-mind matrices and into the earth. Now our work is to integrate and process all this change, anchoring it in over time.

September will feature a beautiful conjunction of the god and the goddess when Mars and Venus meet up on September 11th, as well as the lovely Full Harvest Moon on September 15th, and the balancing energies of the Autumnal Equinox on September 27th. October will bring the equally balancing energies of Libra. All of these energies are conducive to helping us gently ground the radical and massive changes into our lives. September and October are, in my opinion, an energetic Lull in the cosmic warp and weave of 2008. This is time built in by the Universe for gentle integration and quiet processing.


Then - pay attention! - the Eclipse Season energy will be taken to a very deep underworld level from October 27 - November 27, as we plunge into Scorpio energies (Scorpio New Moon and Scorpio/Taurus Full Moon) and Pluto's return to the threshold of Capricorn. At that point, not only must we ground the Aquarian change energies into our bodies, minds and the earth; we must also ground these supercharged Celestial energies into the UNDERWORLD as well. This means we must reckon our Shadow with the Incoming Light. That oughta be fun:)

Pluto's entry into Capricorn on November 27th signals the beginning of a 16-year Capricorn era. In December we will begin to move into what I see as a Capricorn Nuclear (Plutonium) Core of Power, which will Fuel our Capricorn journey until 2024. This Capricorn Power Cell of energy (the kind of energy used to propel rockets to the moon and mars) includes the Winter Solstice which - at this pivotal time of the Turning of the Ages - is aligned with Galactic Center; as well as a Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn just after Christmas when five planets and the moon are all in Capricorn.

This constellation of Capricorn energies in late December will be an important Council of the Elders, with a particular emphasis on the Grandmothers of the Human Tribe (the ones who look out for the next 7 generations). The Elders will gather around the Galactic-Center/Sagittarius Fire and hold counsel. This sacred meeting will launch us into 2009 - the year of 6 eclipses, the 6th Day of the Mayan Calendar according to Carl Calleman, and perhaps our final shot at caretaking the earth for the next 6 or 7 generations.

Then in January of 2009, buckle your seatbelt - the Capricorn Era descends with full force. It feels to me like a huge iceberg, massive above water in its structure (Capricorn) and massive below the surface with incredible depth and power (Pluto). Will our Titanic culture crash into it? An irresistible force meets an immovable object? What do you think would be a good outcome? Needless to say, 2009 "we will get down to the business of burning the economic fields, so we can grow a sustainable economy." (Madeline Gerwick) Not only will we be burning the economic fields, we will also burn the structures that no longer serve. Not only will we be building a sustainable economy, but a sustainable world.
So, put on your helmet! All man-made, poorly constructed "sky-scrapers" within our world - those not built on integrity, those that are not sustainable - will fall. 2009 begins with a bracing icy portal of energy and preparations for the Six-Eclipse Season.
