Not a turtle.
It appears to have some traits that are porcine, and some traits that are avian.
The thorasic region apears to be more avian, with a smaller chest area and enlarged abdomenal region such as you find on a chicken.
The legs appear porcine with pwerful thighs that get small and then terminate at an unusual foot. It appearsto be a combination of a five toed foot as is found on things like racoons and such, but with very narrow toes like on a bird with very stout claws on the ends. they appear very delicate, as if the nacient genes of the pigs ancestry woke up and emerged as they may have once appeared long ago befre the cloven hoof of today.
The dentition is amazing! The teeth are almost exactly those of a pig, but the mouth lacks lips. Then the end of the mouth sports a wicked (like a chicken's) beak though proportionately it is undersized.
Such an animal would have a terribly dificult time eating anything unless it were fed by someone.
As a predator it is sorely lacking physically, in every respect other than it's mouth.
However, such a thing looks like an attempt to shoreup a food supply whichis being struck with disease.
If the flesh could pass as foul and the thing capable of reproducing in large quantities, (or of being reproduced in large quantities) ad was capable of growing as quickly as a chicken to the size of a pig, the flesh might be sold as chicken to a market that might never know.
It truly looks like the kind of monstrosity that Monsanto has been working on in order to introduce into our food supply, and nothing.
Though horrible in its overall implication. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 475516
Such an animal would have a terribly dificult time eating anything unless it were fed by someone.
That might be construed by some as an intentional control mechanism over this creature, this implication implies that it is manmade in nature.
However, such a thing looks like an attempt to shoreup a food supply whichis being struck with disease.
What would it be fed?
Fish fed by plankton or protein enriched algea, would be my guess. A high quality food source would be squid, it's high in protein and very low in fat. Holy cow! It's the woowoo patrol! |

Didn't you ever wonder where on earth mankind got the idea of "DEMONS" that are depicted as gargoyles on various cathedrals, buildings, etc.?
Didn't it ever occur to anyone here that these things are REAL. Maybe whipped up by Satan and his band of fallen ones at some of there deepest underground prisons where they are stored awaiting the final judgment of the Most High??
Do you seriously think that if those "things" have been down there for thousands of years, they've sat by idly doing nothing? There's a decent chance that the "greys" as they're known are not from another planet, but rather the fallen ones and/or demonic entities working and living underground right here on dear old tera firma.
Our government may have thought they were making a deal with Aliens and instead they made a deal with the devil himself (or his followers in the person of fallen angels.) Read your scripture and find out what happened to "the fallen ones" and where they are parked until the end of time and the final judgment. It's pretty clear even in Genesis. Turtles don't have teeth, so it's not a turtle (or tortoise) without a shell. Maybe photoshopped, you wouldn't be able to check it well enough from the internet photo to tell. |

Could there be more than one of these things??

"Joann Dileardo saw it at the end of Roe Avenue in Patchogue, a few weeks ago. "I didn't know what that thing was," she said. "It looked like a pig."
Another reader, Pat, e-mailed that the ladies in his office saw it on an East Quogue beach -- back in April.
Elizabeth Barbeiri said her family saw it about a mile east of Gurney's Inn in Montauk, July 14. And Ryan Kelso, via iPhone, said he spotted it -- alive! -- in the Montauk dunes. "It looked about the size of an average fox, gray in color, eyes like a mole, hairless and was breathing quite heavily," he wrote, "needless to say we were freaked out by this discovery and fled the area quickly."
Lavey Fater saw a surfer bring one to shore, near Ditch Plains.
"It was hairless and gross," Fater reported. "... The surfer said he had no idea what it was, but that he threw it in the dunes because he didn't want to be surfing next to it."
Keith found something last week in Greenport; Chris found one a month ago at Jones Beach east of Field 6. ("The one I saw had a longer snout or beak or whatever you want to call it.") Sean said he buried one, 3 feet deep, in South Jamesport." |

You people are idiots, thinking this is a turtle. Probably a fake carcass or a photoshopped photo for viral marketing. But you cannot rule out being real--I have a book which lists large Octopi and Komodo Dragons as mythical beasts; in the same book as the Loch Ness Monster (very old book, dated 1963).
Anyway, I call you idiots because obviously you have no idea of the anatomy of a turtle, rather having the intellect a third-grader when it comes to the subject.
Allow me to elaborate. A Turtle's shell is part of the skin. There is no skin underneath the shell. the Ribs and spine are attached to the shell, as seen here:
[image] [ link to www.twingroves.district96.k12.il.us]
One of you posted, and I'm going to quote here:
What if someone peeled him out of his shell?
Alright, this is preposterous. If a Turtle's shell were peeled off, its innards would spill out. If a turtle were squeezed hard enough, its shell would smash and its innards would leak out. If a turtle's head were pulled hard enough, either its neck would break, it's head would give way and come off, or you'd just tear the thing apart.
There is no possible way to separate a turtle from its shell without killing it instantly and violently in the process.
One of you agreed:
I gotta agree....a snapper...:)

As the myths go, there were few knights or slayers who hunting these Walking turtles and slayed them. You know these could be one of them. Sometimes the answer are in our past and people just have to look. There is even scrolls and letters with drawings of these creatures but like I said who knows, its only a myth. Then again just like the bible, creatures are written in History, people just dont want to belive certain things exist. |
