I live in Newport ri and I hear it too! I've been talking about this for years and everyone thinks I'm making it up! Wish someone had an answer to it!

I hear the same noise and it seems to be the worst in my garage and the room above the garage. This is where my electric service line comes into my house. After not sleeping all night, I came to this thread for help. Tomorrow I will shut off my power to see if that is it(as advised by many on this thread). Very annoying, I thought it was HAARP because of the low frequency and they are predicting a snow storm for later tonight. After super storm Sandy and all of its anomalies you never know wtf they can do.

I just started hearing this a week ago. I live in a small town in north central Florida. I roll over onto my right ear at night and this hum is soooo loud it wakes me up. I realized it was coming from inside me because any time I would move it would stop, even blinking. I thought I was going nuts. I definitely cannot find the source because it is seriously inside ME! It's scaring me and I don't know what to make of it.

I've also been hearing the hum for years... sounds like a motor cycling on and off (not on a consistent interval). i'm glad i found this forum as i thought i was beginning to lose my mind... sound doesn't change even with main breaker off, so know it's not a motor, pump, etc, in my house... i hear it outside sometimes too, but only in proximity to my house.

I don't know who explains this phenomenon better than Alexander Putney from www.human-resonance.org. The timeline shows events from spontaneous fires to humming. I have been hearing this for a couple of years now in all locations I have traveled across Ecuador.

Finally I found others who hear this humming. My friends and family all think I am crazy. No one but me hears it. I have to travel all over U.S. and hear it everywhere I go.
The only time I didn't hear it is when I was on a cruise.
I wish there where some explination for this. I find that when I am in the great northwest i hear it louder and can feel the vibration from it. Anyway, it is a relief to know that others hear this also.

Everyone needs to be a bit more specific where they sense this hum and other effects like vibration if we are to ever figure this out. Say at least the town and state (for those in the USA)

Yes the same with me! ...I used to hear it only on weekends but now it is every single day and is always worse at night. what the hell is it and what the hell is going to be done?

I live in Williston Florida. I hear the hum more often now, sometimes really loud and sometimes very softly. This morning I heard it even walking around the house. Usually I only hear it between 2:30-4:00am, now it's even at 6:00. I notice when I turn my head to locate the direction of the sound it goes away. It's like my brain is picking up a frequency and like a radio dial goes away with movement. Has any one else noticed this?

I hear this humming noise at between 11pm and 12am. It's really annoying I'm led in bed now and it's humming. The pitch is annoying to me and making it hard to sleep cause I'm focused on the humming noise. I'm based in the UK in Gloucestershire. I only hear it late at night when very quiet outside u moved house a year go one mile up the road and I still hear it I used to hear at my previous house but I put it down to power lines. Urs starting to stress me now due to lack of sleep I even thought I maybe hearing things but my friend stayed over she mentioned the same sound without me evening saying anything lol. I've never suffered with bad ears have good hearing in ENT speacilat checked hearing years ago and all fine so just want some answers thank u x

I'm struggling here. I'm a healthy man who has no known hearing issues. For the past week or so I've been hearing low frequency humming sounds. I've powered down every thing I could think of. My wife doesn't hear it. Its so annoying. I've noticed it at night after 10pm est. Tonight was the first time I heard it earlier in the evening 5pm est. Its goes " humm-hum---humm-hummmmmm-hum-hummm" and repeats. My left ear hears it very slightly but its loud in my right. Makes it hard to sleep. I live in Columbus, OH. Help!!

I've been hearing humming noise for 1,5 years now. It was really freaking me out...visited my doctor, they cleaned my ears and send me on some more checks. They found nothing, they said it could be stress. My hearing was above normal for my age they said.

Im beginning to accept it but sometimes it still freaks me out. And it goes on and off from time to time. If I make a sound or if I tap something, the noise disappears and comes back shortly after. Sometimes it also changes in pitch.

I have experienced the "HUM" for extended periods twice. 1st was in Spain where my best possible explanation was a mining works a few miles away. The 2nd was in UK, had it for 3 months, drove me up the wall! To cut a long story... turned out it was a progressive earwax blockage in my ear... had my ear syringed... ta dah! no more hum. My advice before you get too paranoid about DUMBs in your area, HAARP or Alien/Earth frequencies etc go get your ears syringed.

Do a study on sensitives, first noticed by Baron Karl von Reichenbach. You are one of them. Do not worry about what others can perceive, most of them are not sensitive enough. They should not be your benchmark for sanity, only dullness.

I hear it strongly in Detroit most of the time. It is particularly bad near our home just east of the city in Grosse Pointe Park.

Only times I was able to get away from it was in the western Upper Peninsula well into the raw woods camping and along the NaPali trail on the northern shore of Kaua'i.

It is not a medical problem at all.

I've been hearing this since I was a kid.

It used to occur late at night, exclusively.

This noise used to thum in a slow deep rhythm back in the 90's... recently it's become loud enough so that more people are noticing it, the rhythm of it has also quickened considerably.

These days, it even continues on throughout the day, some people I know have even started to notice it.

I never really thought much of it, but recently it's become almost unbearable, so that I have to distract myself by turning on background noises at night.

When I do manage to fall asleep without any background distractions, I am sometimes awakened by strange, almost mechanical sounds, that seem to disappear as soon as I manage to come to my full senses.

I've always had a strange feeling about this, mild apprehension, it used to scare me as a kid whenever I'd hear it approaching.

You're probably referring to The Windsor Hum. That is a geographically specific hum.

When someone encounters hums or eees it could be a series of things. Lots of people would say tinnitus. I wouldn't. Electronics do it to me sometimes, other times unexplained.
Myth would say it's the Piper calling =)

It's the combination of all the microwave antennas that have been turned on for the smart grid and surveillance network. It will continue to get worse as more antennas are added to cover every inch of the globe. More people will begin to hear it after they've been exposed long enough. The frequencies are slowly damaging our health and well being. Even the Wifi on your X-Boxes and routers and your cordless phones are contributing to it. Don't expect to hear or read about from our industry owned media.

Ok last night i felt in my brain or something. A vwoom vwoom vwoom vwoom vweem vweem vweem vweem. I snapped to scared as hell felt likesomething was in my mind. Not controlling my thoughts but scanning my brain. I've never felt soscared. I also felt like someone was in the room with me. I layed next to my wife scared aliens were trying something in now awake at 345 am to scared to go to sleep. I also never had this happened before in 21 malein southwest Missouri usa. Please help.

I actually can relate to your experience. I've suffered from sleep paralysis the majority of my life and every once in a while during one of these episodes, I'll experience this horrifying buzzing sensation in my brain - as if someone is zapping my brain. It is absolutely frightening. It honestly feels like someone is electrocuting my brain, just with no pain. It goes away after a few seconds. You could be experiencing sleep paralysis. Almost every person who suffers from sleep paralysis experiences the most horrendous fear, too. I cannot put into words how horrifying sleep paralysis is and I often wonder if there is something more to it than what they say it is....

I certainly do not know what that was. I've had sleep paralysis. Couldn't move couldn't talk. This was different. I was awa....ke. Almost asleep. But not quite i dont buy the waves in our air idk i wish i could get what happened to me to lastnight never had this happen in any other house i think my scanned for real. The way i reacted it felt like something pushed that in my head just vwoom vwoom....vweem vweem repeated then was gone. I was mesmerized not paralyzed I've never been more scared. Felt like i was mind raped.

I am having the same problem right now!! It sounds like a man humming 3 to 4 times thans it stop to do it again............. its kind of creepy and no its not my t.v or anything in the house it an animal or a bug and I've been googling this sound and can't seem to find it

Do you hear or sense the typical symptoms of the hum- low frequency harsh diesel, chronic sound and depending on how bad, vibrations of the floor. Can you hear it in you parked car?
