This sort of humming has been heard all over the world from time to time. A few years ago I could hear it her in the North west of England. It was driving me mad because my husband couldn't hear it. Then it was reported in the local papers. Nobody knew what it was and from other stories I've read over the years it seems women are more able to hear it than men.
