I hear it at night/early morning too, OP. Just started noticing it maybe 2-3 weeks ago? And I'm just one state from you.

To repeat the guy above me: wtf?

Yep about a month ago for me. Curious....how do you know you're one state away from me ...I never gave an exact state.

Dood.

I'm new to dishnetwork and this happened to me for the first time last night.

I couldn't figure out WTF that noise was?

I thought some muffler-less honda car was idling outside the bedroom...

It's like a car idling outside. I put ear plugs in, but there it is, IN my head. Occasionally when it's loud, i feel soft buzzy vibrations in my legs.
Started about 9 months ago. And ive moved, but there it is. And if i don't hear it, i just need to think of it, and there it is, like im "calling on" it. Mainly my left ear but resonates throughout. Oh btw, im in Australia.

Jim Berkland's EQ window is open thru the third of Aug.
with record tides and a total solar eclipes. ON C2C a
woman called in talking about the spectral clouds she saw a
few days before LA EQ. Jim seemed very interested in this
phenome and had experienced it himself.
I live in SO. Oregon and yesterday, 7/29 I observed the
rainbow clouds above faintly for a few minutes and thought
of all the talk about the China EQ and these clouds.

NOw this. I think a very large EQ is about to hit somewhere in the Western US.

I'm in north uk, and hear it most nights, and in the early hours. It sounds like it is very deep underground and makes the noise as described by previous posters, on and off, sometimes lasting a minute, or sometimes just 10 seconds.

I don't live near any phone masts, I have no hearing problems and don't smoke or use narcotics. WTF is it!!!

How about anyone with some decent audio equipment trying to get a recording of this? It would have to be pristine as far as man made sound around you, which is'nt easy anymore in this sardine can we call home.
Turn your microphone gain all the way up and record a nites worth on your computer for us to analyze.

Re: What the FUCk is this HUMMing SOund
For the past month or so I have been hearing a very low level humming sound. No one else hears it and I'm starting to wonder WTF is going on. I hear it mostly at night and early morning, because I'm guessing it's the quiet time of the day (night).

This humming is not constant, it sounds like an electric motor trying to cycle. I've turned off all the curcuits in the house so I know it's not from within the house. I can even hear it when I'm out in the woods or at the neighbors house.
It's really starting to bug me out!

And no it's not tinnitus.
 Quoting: bugging out 433091

This may have already bee a reply, but;

I first heard (or felt) the "Hum" in Beaverton Oregon around 1990. To me it sounded like a large train engine idling nearby. It could only be heard when it was quiet as any sound would cover it up. At that time there were doing the tunneling for the rapid transit near route 26. I attributed it to that. Boy was it annoying. It was so loud at times it would not allow sleep. This continued through 1997.

I moved to Round Rock Texas after that in 1997 and had the exact same thing. 1997 through 2002

I moved to Virginia in 2002 and have heard it as well, though not as constant. It now seems to be a constant high pitch sound some what like the fly back transformer of a TV, though there are times the low pitched sound comes and changes in intensity and pitch.

I have investigated all sorts of things from "The Taos Humm" to tunnel drilling, to HAARP, to submarine VLF communications. Unfortunately the Government is reluctant to give details and the usual answer is a "Shrug".

The best way to block the hum is fan noise. Ear plugs do not work as it seems to be internal, and predominately in one ear not the other. As other have mentioned most folks can't hear it. I remember reading an article on it and it seems to be worse in multilevel houses on the top floors.

Perhaps we have a scientist here on GLP that is in to VLF and the measurement of same...

Good luck.

Re: What the FUCk is this HUMMing SOund
I get a feeling it is individual, as it seems to effect some but not others. I have never been effected by a constant humming, but for like a month back in the early fall of 2003 I heard three pulses. The thing was, they were not in synch. They were two short, followed by one long; but that third long one was offbeat from the first two; thats what made it bad.

It came and went for like 3 weeks.

I do see we are about to change somehow. Go up in density?

But, anyway, I think its part of that; whether it be the 'bad guys' trying thier last gasp effort, or like a prelude to DNA change... ?

Have heard the same for a long time ... constant high pitched ..a high frequency mostly in left ear . I believe this noise we are hearing is earth related and is coming from under us but have any of you considered since this is heard inside the head and in most people only in one ear that this may be the result of a ear implant ? Seriously .. feedback please .

A more out there story is that in the center of Earth is a crystal. This crystal is like directly related to the dream (cough - reality) on the surface of Earth. The story is that it cracked, and that let in all kinds of stuff, like entities. The crystal is now being replaced.

Indiana here. I've had a low freq. hum in my right ear since 1999. Comes and goes... mostly at night, early a.m. I sleep with a fan on and it helps. Have no clue what is causing it.

Re: What the FUCk is this HUMMing SOund
OP, I was hearing this a few months back, off and on. Sometimes it was a few nights in a row, then a break, then back on. I live in a rural NW WI area...it's not any kind of mainstream machinery. When I lived in a populated FL area with two ELF towers a stones throw from my apt. I never heard any of the such.

I even went so far, more than once, as to get up out of bed in freezing weather and snow to see if I could locate the source, but it just seemed to be everywhere. It definitely wasn't just in my head.

Like you and others have commented, nobody else could hear it. It was aggravating enough to keep me awake, even after a hard day at work and being exhausted.

Re: What the FUCk is this HUMMing SOund
Before you start to think you are completely doo-lally, do you have a mains water supply? Or even a pumped local supply? I ask, because the hum that I have been hearing on and off for years seems to be coming into the house through the water pipes. I suspect there is an electric pump running somewhere in the system, presumably at the water works, and the vibrations from this are being fed down the system and amplified by the walls of the house. The pipes, obviously, are secured by clips to the walls, so there is a very good path for the vibes to follow. Anyway, that is how I explain it to myself, otherwise I'd have torn the house down by now trying to find the source. I still don't really understand why everybody can't hear it. However, due to operating helicopters for many years before ear defenders became compulsory, I do have some frequency deafness and that may be a factor too.
Occasionally, the hum is more of a throb and sounds like a large capacity heavy industrial diesel engine running some way off and muffled. Then my water pipe theory starts to go out the window and I do wonder if there is tunneling going on deep down below my home. Specially as there are several large military bases not far away, two of which are known for their heavy security and somewhat secretive goings on. I live in the UK on the edge of Salisbury Plain.
