Do you not understand that electric cars, bikes or motorcycles are not rocket science. Think electric remote controlled toy car but with bigger everything....technology is exactly the same! More powerful motor, controller, wiring, batteries and you are 90% there! I bought a 16hp electric motor and high current controller on ebay for $700. The amount of money you have for batteries would dictate range. The amount of money you have to spend on a motor controller would dictate performance (i.e. acceleration) more money buys you more current capacity which buys you better acceleration. I did a project with a 1000A controller with an 9" Advanced DC Motor. System make 500 ft-lbs of torque! Ford, GM and Chrysler are milking the government for money on this one! I read almost the whole thread, and this is one of the only logical comments I read. All of this is easily obtainable knowledge, there is nothing complex about this. All the hard stuff was already done, he basically put together pieces of legos... Although I am not going to rag on him, at least he's attempting, although maybe late on his part. |
