Pee tests for middle schoolers ?

Anybody hearing anything about this ? How long has this been going on ? My nephew moved to NC and is enrolling his 7th grader in the public school system. As I understand it, in the enrollment/information packet there is a document that gives the school the right/permission to perform random pee tests. If the parent doesn't sign, the kid's not able to participate in extracurricular school sponsored activities. What's up with this ?

Been that way in many states/or schools for quite a while-it is a violation imho

but that doesn't seem to matter with torture being the new PC here.

Pretty darn scary, imho. The ramifications and implications of such wide spread random pee tests on kids is enormous. Go after the parents, take the kids if a dirty pee test ? Start building a record/data base on your kid -- clean or dirty pee tracker. Police state in action ? Wonder if they are monitoring other things besides illegal substances. Tying in the "voluntary" permission slip to being able to be in extracurricular school sponsored activities sounds like a violation of privacy to me. Wonder if parents even realize the implications when they are signing away. I could understand a case-by-case basis with some objective concerns, but random pee tests on all students. And, I think it's pretty damn sneaky to tie it into school sponsored extracurricular activities -- band club, drama club, debate team, sports teams, etc. (Guess can't require for general education... at least not yet, anyway !!)

Damn.. smokin before school actually Helped my A.D.D ass pay attention in class... Kids got it pretty bad these days ! So god himslef says Satan will do his best to Imitate and overshadow him.. And along comes 'Good Ole JC' altering God's world to fit 'Christianity'...Coincedence... Are you Kiddin me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting high actually helped me from being bored out of my mind. Got high everyday and graduated w/ a 4.0 in the top 5% of my class. But - that was many years ago in a land far, far, away. LOL
