Very true, Munster. And it wouldn't surprise me if they came back and voted themselves a raise!

If I'm not mistaken, congress voted themselves three raises while the working poor suffered with frozen abysmal minimum wages. It's easy to see right through these bought-off criminals.

Re: Congress, GET YOUR ASSES BACK TO WORK.
My neighbors were over last night.. we talked this statement for hours"congress get your asses back to work" . After the drinks were flowing we took a vote(the same method the 535 uses..late) we decided that Pres Bush needs to step up and demand that all 535 be back in their chairs MONDAY MORNING at 8am for roll call in the house. If they are not back at work they would be taken by the Federal Police from where ever they are and escorted back to work. Then their asses need to be FIRED!!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 444722

A few of us also sat around in an old fashioned chat room with beer in hand. We agreed that the 10% approval rating must be bogus. Rather, it should be a flat-line 0. Where do they find these people who approve of congress's performance?

No, actually I'm going to do my small part and vote against every incumbent on our ballot. Maybe it's an irrelevant and futile gesture but it's the only thing I can do other than grabbing a pitchfork and marching on DC.

Re: Congress, GET YOUR ASSES BACK TO WORK.
The FBI/CIA have enough dirt on at least 25% of them to put them away for 5-10 years. Same with Mossad. But instead of following the law they would rather intimidate and blackmail these criminals to do their bidding. 60 odd days per year for 165-200,000/yr and the same for pension for life? With less than 10% approval? I say strip them of all non standard benefits (SS instead of private pensions, same healthcare as average American, zero immunity to the laws of the land (haven't they 'zero toleranced' us into a corner that they are exempt from?) and published criminal background checks including FBI/CIA allegations every 5 years. And of course mandatory drug testing done randomly every month so we can KNOW who is strung out. If we the people cannot get benefits for drug use then those in charge who should lead by example should lose ALL benefits, pensions, healthcare, etc. on the public dime if they have violated the laws they passed. PERIOD. Further someone like Larry Craig should face criminal charges for trying to hide his crime under the color of authority. The worlds worst terrorists are concentrated in DC, the City of London and King Saul Boulevard and should be treated accordingly. As for someone like Pelosi who ran on a pack of lies she obviously NEVER intended to enforce she should lose all and go directly to jail. And let's not forget oaths of office to protect and defend the Constitution while in office they continually vote to gut and strip us of those selfsame rights under the new cold war of fake 'terror wars'.

apathy, corruption, insider trading type behavior-they have great health insurance-I am impressed with the benefits the Americans pay for-I am not impressed that most Americans do not have it and if insured, most are underinsured-congressional folks are milking the system quite well...for very little in return for the masses imho

I've mentioned 12 year term limits along with tar and feathering...lol. Too bad they're both pipe dreams.

BUT HEY!!! Here's one resolution the congress would pass quickly if introduced:

ABOLISH THE OATH OF OFFICE

Yes, get rid of this useless and deceitful dog and pony show. Swearing on the bible to protect and serve the People is a joke at best and could be construed as a traitorous action.

Most everyone knows this inaugural moment of pomp and circumstance means jack shit. With that in mind, maybe "taking the oath" really does bother a few. They might be deeply religious and regard swearing to god very seriously.

So to make sure these religious politicians don't have to lie to god, just abolish the oath of office. Quite simple really. Watch for the resolution to hit the floor after this post reaches some capital hill mailboxes...lol

So congress is dropping everything to take 5 weeks of vacation. I guess I wouldn't mind if they earned the time off.

Fact is, congress has not earned one single day of vacation time. They have not been earning their salary & benefits either for that matter.

Interesting that most of our elected officials would do very well in the private sector. However, while working for the American people under oath, these same blue chippers turn into bickering and incompetent bozos.

Yes, while our fearless leaders on capital hill all twiddle their collective thumbs between meaningless soundbites, the thought of imposing 12 year term limits comes to mind as a positive step in the right direction.

That is all. Thanks for listening...
