I don't care about John Edwards' affair about as much as I didn't care about Bill Clinton's BJ. I can't believe that there is important news being so blithely ignored.

I take issue with the Oympics, too. 40 billion would feed and get medicine for a lot of people.

in L.A. today it's worse than usual (yes that's possible): the big stories are Kobe Bryant "might" play for Italy, the Hollywood DMV employees staged a sick-out and closed down the office due to State budget crap, John Edwards affair and the Olympics.

'tards.

It's not just a distraction, it's a strategy. Obsessing over the Georgia situation at this stage would be suspicious. America is supposed to have no involvement in the matter, meaning America would have limited interest. That being so, the American MSM would naturally only comment on the Georgian war in passing. Because it "doesn't matter." America "isn't involved." They're slow playing right now. It's a ball which will roll and thicken as time goes on, a psychological build up. They say Russia invaded Georgia unprovoked and fuck those Reds/Soviets/Russians. They're providing enough information for you to develop an opinion (Russia/Ossetia bad, US/Georgia good), but not too much causing suspicion (later) or desire to better inform yourself on the matter (we're giving you a good overview, no other sources needed). It rolls and rolls as more video, information and opportunities arrive to use to make their case (Russia/Ossetia bad, US/Georgia good), and they put out a few hints along the way so as not to shock (shake awake) anyone too terribly much (130 American soldiers in Georgia, Russia bombing Tbilisi, Georgia asking for help). Eventually there's breaking news, you learn that the "Soviets" have "ruthlessly attacked" American soldiers either minding their own business (Base, embassy) or who were doing something heroic (saving little children with teddybears in hand, defending Red Cross). And you can imagine where it goes from there.
