Re: New OS Windows Mojave "mojaveexperiment"Quote

don't worry - there is no new OS, its simply another attempt from MSFT to make people believe in vista being better than xp.

They really have a deep problem with that piece of shit, if they have to invest sums of $$$ into PR campaigns like this.

Oh, and don't hope for Windows "7" or "8" - it will be "Vista Second Try Edition" and "Vista - honestly, now it really works" Edition"

by the time of "Windows 9" they will admit that each vista was crap and come up with something new.

LOL, did you guys hear that there's a huge flaw in Vista security that renders its secutity "Completely Useless by New Exploit"?!

[link to www.neowin.net]

Also, my step mother has a PC that should run Windows XP just fine, but it has Vista running on it for god knows what reason. She can't even use a simple MP3 player without processor slowdowns so large, that it stutters when playing MP3s! How's that for bloat!

Interesting PR exercise in damage control marketing.

I run Vista on my laptop, can't say I've had a problem with it. I'm also in the process of building a new rig, which I will install Vista Ultimate x64 on.

TBH, I think a lot of the Vista hate comes from bandwagon jumpers. I didn't switch to XP from 98SE for ages, but once I made the change, I never looked back.

I honestly think I'll get along just fine with Vista.

Windows Vista needs no exploit to become useless.

Inf act it can turn itself into "reduced function mode" and lock you out after one hour of usage - no hoax here.

Vista does this whenever the built in "genuine" checker fails the validation against Microsofts Servers.

It does this quite often, if you run a professional network monitor you can see Vista phoning home several times a day, especially contacting the wga-servers and various msn, microsoft and watson ( error reporting ) servers, all owned and operated by MS themselves.

You need not being a criminal hacker that tries to operate vista os without ever paying for the License, in Vista it is quite easy to be falsely accused being a software piracer - a single new driver installed or a bios update can render your "genuine licensed" status into "this copy of windows is not genuine" - and voila : welcome to RFM mode.

What exactly does RFMode :

- The login screen will tell you that vista is invalid

- you can then log in with your password to RFMode

- you will have a black Desktop without wallpaper

- You will have written the "non genuine" message on the screen plus a popup that reminds you to buy a license now

- the Control Panel wont work

- Windows explorer wont work

- Windows Defender wont protect you from kittens

- Windows "Aero" scheme is off, no transparency anymore

- Windows Update will only deliver urgent updates but no bgfixes or enhancements.

- All installed enhancements like Ultimate Extras are disabled.

- You can launch installed 3rd party programs, but no built-in like Photogallery or Windows Media Player

- Your system browser ( IE7 or FF ) will initially launch and automatically redirects you to Microsofts webshop, offering you a new Key for some hundred bucks.

- After exactly 59 minutes of usage, you will be automatically locked out of the Desktop and back on the Login screen where you again can enter RFMode only.

A company running vista - well well.. one button for MS to shut down whole businesses I would tell.

i use that. :-)
but a good way to protect you self is to use what u say, then u are alot more protected, but i will say, vista is better than xp when its come to protection, but that a discussion, there will go on forever, just like nvida, and ati wars :-) so, the point was with this, that many do not like vista, even the never tried it, and then the will try call it something else, and then show it to people, and the loved it, but it was vista, and that was people wooow about :-)

Error message when you start Windows Vista: "Your activation period has expired"

This content is designed for a beginning to intermediate computer user.

Kinds of reduced functionality mode

Windows Vista has the following kinds of reduced functionality mode:
• Out-of-grace reduced functionality mode
• Non-genuine reduced functionality mode

What causes reduced functionality mode

This section discusses what can cause the two kinds of reduced functionality mode.

Out-of-grace reduced functionality mode

Windows Vista enters out-of-grace reduced functionality mode if one of the following conditions is true:

On a retail copy of Windows Vista

• You do not activate Windows Vista within 30 days after you install Windows Vista.

• You do not reactivate Windows Vista within three days after you replace a major hardware component in the computer.

On an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) copy of Windows Vista

• You do not activate Windows Vista within three days after you change the OEM motherboard, or the originally manufactured motherboard, to a non-OEM motherboard.

On a corporate or enterprise version of Windows Vista that uses the Key Management Service (KMS)

Note KMS allows you to activate the computer against a service that you host in your environment so that you don't have to connect to Microsoft servers.

• You do not activate Windows Vista within 30 days after you install Windows Vista.

• You do not renew the Windows Vista activation within 210 days of an earlier Windows Vista activation.

• You do not activate Windows Vista within 30 days after you replace the hard disk drive of the computer.

• On a corporate or enterprise version of Windows Vista that uses a Multiple Activation Key (MAK)

Note MAK allows you to activate multiple computers by connecting to Microsoft servers over the Internet or by telephone.

• You do not activate Windows Vista within 30 days after you install Windows Vista.

• You do not reactivate Windows Vista within 30 days after you replace a major hardware component in the computer.

Non-genuine reduced functionality mode

Windows Vista enters non-genuine reduced functionality mode if one of the following conditions is true:

• The Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program detects a blocked product key or a counterfeit product key.

Note The WGA program is a Microsoft service that detects whether you have an authentic version of Vista. A product key is a unique software-based key that is used to identify a product as an original.

• The WGA program detects incorrect activation binary files or modified activation binary files.

Note A binary file is a computer file that contains encoded data for storage and processing purposes.

• Windows Vista is in out-of-grace reduced functionality mode.

Activities that are not available in reduced functionality mode

This section discusses activities that are not available for the two kinds of reduced functionality mode.

Out-of-grace reduced functionality mode

If Windows Vista is running in out-of-grace reduced functionality mode, you cannot perform the following actions:

• Play built-in games

The games that are included with Windows Vista are unavailable in reduced functionality mode.

• Use premium features

Windows Vista premium features such as Aero Glass, ReadyBoost, and BitLocker are unavailable in reduced functionality mode.

• Log on for more than one hour

In reduced functionality mode, you can only remain logged on to Windows Vista for one hour.

maybe therefor i never did see this, because i do remember to activate, its tells you, with big text when u log in first time, after an install. some people do not think, before the do things, therefore so much end wrong, the same here. u ofcorse need to follow the rules in vista, and let the firewall accept to Microsoft, that deal u have agree when installed it vista or xp for that matter, then if u have the org. of vista, there should be no problem. all my software and games or original.

Vista x64 ultimate is an excellent bit of kit

No complaints, no slowdowns, runs perfect.

Anyone who is having major issues like any mentioned above either needs a legal version or a pc with more power than my phone.

I mean why would you install a top end power hungry feature rich OS on a piece of shit? are you stupid?

It's all just bile and vitriol from MS haters
