Iraq is no great power. It is part of the conflict thanks to its geographical location. Both the hated USA as well as Iraq's former ally, Russia, would like to turn Iraq into a pawn and use her to further their own interests. The Iraqi army is large, but suffers a shortage of modern equipment, and, in many cases, any equipment at all. What little it possesses dates back to an earlier epoch. Only in very isolated instances can it compare to what the Russians and Americans are using. Up until Desert Storm Iraq was one of the largest weapon buyers in the world. Back then, Iraq had a number of contacts to leading arms producers from Russia, Germany, France, Great Britai n and the USA. After the war, there were still enough foreign companies willing to break the embargo for the right price. The strength of the Iraqi army lies in its incomparable fanaticism and pure hatred for the enemy (best example - the kamikaze units). Furthermore, the Iraqis know the terrain better than anybody, have implemented their camouflage perfectly, know how to locate oil reserves and quickly exploit them. |

wow - pretty specific - eight years ago....Maybe everyone else has already thought this, but I noticed Tom Clancy's name at the end of the vid - and he wrote two books that pretty much forshadowed 9/11 ... what are the odds? Not a CT per say, but hmmmmm |

The dates are too far ahead and th situation is too specific for it not to be suspicious ... it got me thinking about others ...does anyone else know any more of these very "specific forshadowings " ? I am spooked by this one. I think I remember a video game that was being developed before 9/11 that was about planes hitting the two towers - don't know if it was ever marketed, or if it was pulled after 9/11 - anyone else remember it? Anyway, done in 2001 this video is CRAZY - about Georgia, US, Russia and war in 2008. Watch it if you havent yet! I for one want to know more about who created the video game etc. . . .very strange. |

We are talking about Tom Clancy here. The guy has knowledge of military stuff that is normally classified, his network extends beyond the Pentagon and NATO, and he is a great writer. Of course when he gets involved in developing a game, his scenarios (the background of the game) are somewhat realistic. As he was involved in many games, one or two of the many scenarios he has made can mimic reality somewhat. Furthermore, there are so many games based on the resurection of the USSR whether or not accompanied by a power hungry Russian president. |

Im bumping too, for the same reason - regarding prior comment about Tom Clancy - forgive the pretty obvious point here, but if this guy has military background ( I wouldn't be suprised CIA "retired" ) and he can imagine these senarios, ( and publish a book aout them - not exactly classified thought !) then how can Condi Rice, Cheney and others say " we could not have possibly have thought about a civilian plane used as a weapon" ? The more I think about this, the more disturbing it becomes and THIS THREAD SHOULD BE PINNED. |

It is inevitable with so many scenarios and games that one or two will from time to time have SOME similarities with reality. By the way the participants in these games are almost always Russia, USA, EU, the Middle East, terrorits, Israel and China or one of these. Furthermore, the video shown is only correct for a (small) portion if related to current events. |

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty had to be pushed back to remove a very 9/11 like incident from the game. The development was before 9/11, btw. |
