Desparately seeking a dentist in Seattle who will treat a periodontal problem. (not a periodontal specialist - can't afford them right now)
thanks.

Re: Is there a dentist who will work on periodontal issues in Seattle?
lol - I have googled dentists -
the thing is, 99% of them do not do periodontal work, and I need one that does.
So, I'm looking for a magical seattle dentist who works on periodontal problems.

Unfortunately for you all fields of medicine are highly specialized.

Why? because there is too much to learn to know it all, even when it comes to just teeth and the mouth. Thus you have specialists who spent their whole time in school focused on Periodontal issues.

It is also the reason why your GP will send you or refer you to specialists or other departments.

At one time a doctor did it all, from blood draws to surgeries, from teeth pulling to fitting folk for dentures. however we humans have learned so much about biology and physiology that no one human being can learn even one percent of all there is to know about medicine.

Yes a periodontist is expensive, however most will work with you or have a loan company lined up who gives 'reasonable' rates and payment plans so that most people can get the care they need.

Instead of seeking a dentist who can deal with Periodontal issues, you need to find a periodontist who has the best working loan plan.

At first I thought this was a joke, but it is real. It produced limited results for me, but others may want to give it a try.

Yes, I've been considering moving to Oregon, because of the the do-it-yourselfers. I am tired of all these pussy-assed specialists who overcharge and really don't know what the fuck they're doing, anyway.

Re: Is there a dentist who will work on periodontal issues in Seattle?
replying from Federal Way

look up King County Community Health Clinics, they just changed their name to Healthpoint. The clinic in Kent also has a dental clinic.

you are charged on a sliding scale if you don't have insurance and if you need to see a specialist they will give you a referral to one who will also charge on a sliding scaled based on your income.

they are very busy so you may not be able to get an appointment for several weeks, but they do emergency services very early in the morning on a first come first served basis.

the clinic in kent has been very good to me and my daughter over the last 10 years, we wouldn't have been able to afford health care if it weren't for them.
