Re: Number Sequences From The Angels
Hi all and thanks for the posts. i know this thread is a bit old, but my question fits right in here.
it was interesting to read about the numbers and their meanings. But i could not find an answer to what numbers like this mean:
17:17, 16:16, 23:23, 13:11 (=1:11) and why would i check the time again two minutes after that when it shows 13:13?

i write sms messages at 22:22 and receive an answer 23:23
i check the time at 11:11 or 14:14 and so on. always the double version. i keep seeing these numbers and i do not find an answer on this.
There is plenty of info on numbers like 11 or 22 or 33 or 44 but not 14:14 or 18:18, etc.
First i started seeing numbers like 22:22 or 22:33 11:22 but somehow it changed to these other combinations.
Anybody any idea?

Re: Number Sequences From The Angels
I remember discovering a strange number mystery when I was seven. My mother left her calculator out and I decided to use it for play.

7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3

I discovered that when you add three consecutive numbers in the opposite and inverted direction, the sum is always a 1110.

For example:
741+369 = 1110
789+321= 1110
951+159=1110
357+753=1110
645+465=1110
478+632=1110
421+689=1110

And so on...

What is really strange is that when I tried four digit sequences I would get 11110 and 5 digit sequences would produce 111110. My curiosity caused me to create a chart and discover the reasoning behind the pattern. Perhaps with out this experiment, I never would have majored in mathematics.

anyways....

what is the answer to 0^0 ??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 765966

3^3=27

27/3=9
3^2=9
(3^3)/3=9

9/3=3
3^1=3
(3^2)/3=3

3/3=1
3^0=1
(3^1)/3=1

but 0? lol 0 makes me laugh. its just misunderstood.

0^0=... well, it is literally undefined, in terms of math. zero is the absence of value. if 3^0 is three divided by itself, 0^0 would be the absence of value divided by the absence of value. ... ??

remember that 0 is a placeholder and is not a number. 0*3 equals 0 not because it disappears; it equals 0 because it does not exist in the first place. the absence of value to any magnitude is still the absence of value.

0 is not a number, and should not be thought of as such: it is simply a tool with unique properties, similar to i (i^2=-1). i does not exist, for you cannot multiply any two identical numbers and have a negative number; math simply doesnt work that way.
