There are no winners in a nuclear war and there will be no safe place. The planet will become sterile in just a few short years after a massive or even limited nuclear war. Imagine all of the nuclear power plants located around the world that would fail adding insult to injury.

With no one to maintain power supplies to cool them when the power grids fail, the nuclear power plants will overheat and release toxic radioactive clouds much like fukushima. With that said, imagine all of the industrial waste that will be released into the environment from destroyed industrial manufacturers around the world when the nukes fall.

Lakes, rivers, streams, underground aquifers and oceans will become polluted and poisonous not just with radiation but with all the toxic chemicals that are used to manufacture everyday products such as Mercury, pesticides, fertilizers, oil, gases and many other types of chemicals. Let's not forget stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons. etc,.

Nuclear winter is a very real possibility however that
is nothing compared to the loss of water. No water no life. For those that think that they can survive
underground....good luck with that.
