Cindy Sheehan: "I walked into my hotel room without a key, and he was taking apart my phone."

The following is an excerpt from a report posted by Cindy Sheehan at the San Francisco Bay Area Independent Media Center:

The most troubling thing happened, though, when I arrived back to my hotel. We got back early because the altitude and sleeplessness were starting to take a toll on us. We did not march after the rally, so we decided to rest before the next event at 7pm. As I walked toward my room, I noticed that the door was opened with the security bolt blocking the complete closing of the door. I knew immediately that I had not left the door open, and I double checked to make sure it was the right room because, as a frequent traveler, I have been known to forget my room number, but it was the right room. I was upset at first thinking that housekeeping had made a mistake and left my room open and I was worried that something might be missing. So I walked into my room and bigger than life, there was a man standing by my desk holding the room phone with a screwdriver in his hand!

It's most likely a false flag, where the cointelpro operatives want the patriot movement to believe the government is all big and powerful and has a secret group of people running it behind the scenes. Not saying there aren't financial puppet masters who would like to remain clandestine in their work, but the patriot movement just hypes it way too much.

My this story upset someone, "stupid cunt" would imply to me that you skills as a put down artist are quite inadequate. I didn't think much of the story until I read responses with such immature fear and anger that I realize it must have upset someone. Go back and re-read to insure you have gotten the entire point of the article.

It appears sort of simplistic, but to have caused such a reaction must mean something.

I don't blame the poster for being upset. If they were really tapping her phone they would simply do it via computer at the telecommunications company, since all signals are now digital. Sheehan has watched too many episodes of the old "F.B.I." television show.

my skills do not lie in being a "put down artist".

your skills do not lie in spelling.

please ENSURE that you go and get some assistance re:.

btw, 'fear' and 'anger' do not arise from 'immaturity'.

so shut the hell up.

>>Re: Breaking: Cindy Sheehan walks into her Denver hotel room and catches man with phone and screw driver in hand, bugging her phone Quote

Sheehan caught an amateur or was lying;
Government taps your phone via the phone company turning the phone on to make it transmit all sounds nearby.
eg:

>The FBI appears to have begun using a novel form of electronic surveillance in criminal investigations: remotely activating a mobile phone's microphone and using it to eavesdrop on nearby conversations.

The technique is called a "roving bug," and was approved by top U.S. Department of Justice officials for use against members of a New York organized crime family who were wary of conventional surveillance techniques such as tailing a suspect or wiretapping him.

...cell phones owned by two alleged mobsters,...were used by the FBI to listen in on nearby conversations.
...
The surveillance technique came to light in an opinion published this week by U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan. He ruled that the "roving bug" was legal because federal wiretapping law is broad enough to permit eavesdropping even of conversations that take place near a suspect's cell phone.

Kaplan's opinion said that the eavesdropping technique "functioned whether the phone was powered on or off." Some handsets can't be fully powered down without removing the battery<

Well, the fact that she's still breathing means her story is pure B.S., plain and simple. Also the fact that she apparently didn't file a police report, double B.S.

Re: Cindy Sheehan: "I walked into my hotel room without a key, and he was taking apart my phone."
The fact that the hotel would be using a PBX system would make wiretapping a bit trickier. The outbound calls from the PBX to the wireline company wouldn't likely have an identifier as to what room she was calling from. They might find it easier to do it the old way in this case. Not to mention they might like to hear conversations in the room when she's not on the phone. This could serve two purposes.

I am no expert, but I do have hands on experience with the wiretapping function as I managed a small telephone switching office for a number of years. It's a pretty cool feature.

She is just looking for any way she can to get her face on TV again.

There are better ways to bug a person's room.

It was probably the phone repair guy and she is too stupid to figure that one out.

Also, in the event that someone called her via the main hotel phone number........they would have to monitor every call to the hotel to tap this call. Haven't you ever called a hotel and asked for a guest or a room number? I'm not aware of a practical way to tap this call with the regular tapping features except to monitor every call to the hotel to listen for a call to her.

Re: Cindy Sheehan: "I walked into my hotel room without a key, and he was taking apart my phone."
Well I just read the entire article.

The guy said he was a maintenance man for the hotel and there was a problem with the phone

She didn't believe him so she called the front desk and they CONFIRMED his story

Her little paranoid mind immediately decided that the clerk was "In on it".

The fact that he locked the the dead bolt to keep the door from shutting also backs up the innocence of his actions

If I was trying to bug someone's phone the 1960's way, I would have wedged the door shut in case she returned early , then once she went back downstairs to get assistance to open the "stuck door"...I would slip out.

She probably just didn't have anything else to blog about that day.

P.S.

Not only is it easy to bug a phone remotely....by shining an infra-red laser on a window you can detect the vibrations the sound waves hitting it make...thus turning the window into a microphone , this particular device has been widely (and illegally )available on the market since the 80's

If someone wanted to monitor her conversations ...she would never know about it.

I don't know about them but If I was tapping a Hotel room I would tap the phone itself. Easy to get the key, takes less time, less bureaucracy.
A house on the other hand is a whole other mess. Any decent lock or witnesses will prevent a stealth entering so it's easier to just do it from the outside.
