Gulf water surface temperature of 86*F is serious! I can not imagine a hurricane being destroyed under such 'perfect' water temps. 86*F is a super-charger massive hurricane building environment.
I say the shear would be destroyed by Cat 5+ Gustav. |

I believe they are going to keep this map up for a while in order to get the seriousness of the situation pounded into everybody's head in that area. As I recall from experience, when Katrina was roaring through the Gulf they kept changing the track. Thus not many took it seriously, and the result was catastrophic. It was not until the very last minute that Mayor Nagin called for an evacuation and by that time it was too late. The interstate was jammed and those that had no way out were left to fend for themselves. |

I know it is quite easy to give control to higher being, that way your not responsible for your actions. Easy to talk prophecy than have a reasonable, organized reaction to completely normal weather and natural phenomenon.
I'm an aethist, existentialist actually. And believe to be responsible to the next human, no matter who he/she is. To make this sojourn through Life a little easier...for all of us.
Let's not knock each other's ideas down. But let us practice pedagogy - inform and challenge each other...stay on our toes...we are a damn resourceful community.
Hell, we might even be able to help each other...go figure.

Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers
(i know you glp's laugh at Sorcha Faal...still this part is probably true)
In the shadow of Western public blind to their own government’s propaganda that such technology does not exist, the first attacks of Total Global War between the West and East have been launched against each other by the United States and Russia.
The Americans are reported to have struck first in their Alaskan HAARP based attack upon Russia’s similar array of atmospheric radars located on the shores of Lake Baikal (also home to Russia’s Deep Underwater Neutrino Telescope) which was hit by a devastating 9.0 magnitude earthquake. (6.7 on the Richter scale)
Russian Forces were quick to counterstrike with a massive 9 billion volt surge from their “Hurricane Gun” directed towards the Gulf of Mexico, and which American meteorologist Scott Stevens had previously accused Russia of utilizing against the US over the catastrophic Katrina Hurricane which virtually obliterated the city of New Orleans.
This is not the first time this year that the Americans have struck against their Eastern adversaries as their early summer attacks against the Chinese were brought to an abrupt halt following China’s threat of ‘massive retaliation’, and as we had previously reported on in our June 21st report titled ‘Stop Now Or We’ll Bury You’, China Warns US As Weather War Intensifies”.
No such warning, however, is being heeded by America’s War Leaders in their confrontation with Russia as the Gulf of Mexico is now in turmoil in expectations of Tropical Storm Gustav growing into a possible monster Category 5 Hurricane ready to cause catastrophic destruction to the United States vital off shore oil facilities and refineries located along their southeastern coasts. |

Show me some attacks via hurricane in February or March and I will be much more inclined to consider the possibility of being 'attacked' by a Russian or Chinese hurricane. |

They have some pretty impressive computers etc. If you are in the Gulf coastal area, start prepping now. Get cash right away. Enough cash to live for a few weeks. Get a full tank of gas TOMORROW. Gas, cash, batteries. Food which is non perishable. Water. Plenty of water. Be ready to get in your car and get out of harms way if need be. Get your pets ready as well. |

Gustav has SLOWED DOWN and 3 mph of forward speed and weakening is not going to cut it for a hitching ride to the Gulf Coast where NHC has it. I most def might have to start thinking of an EXACT PATH as Fay, maybe further West into TAMPA? |

It's like you said before Kevin. The high pressure ridges and the strenght and location of the ridges will determine where Gustav goes. I would advise everyone who lives in the coastal areas of the gulf and west Florida to pay attention and start prepping just in case. We'll know more in a day or two. |

CURRENT - OFFICIAL
Gustav has is now at 3mph in forward motion. This is far slower and if it is not North of Jamaica by Thursday we will have to start thinking this will not even hit the Gulf Of Mexico.
For now we will go with the slower motion and if it speeds up on path it will curve on up and pull Fay's track, however maybe a bit more toward Tampa Bay this time. Right now it is tough because Gustav is not moving much. It seems to not be in any type of steering current right now and this is throwing forecasts off.

Sure I said MEX but hey even FL is a hit! It's not the Gulf states. Right now I'm going to say FL again. Yeah not again because Fay just got done there and this won't be good for FL if it decides to move now. |
