Re: I just started 65mg of iron...
Yes. If you are concerned about anemia (as a vegetarian, I have to be concerned about this), then take iron tablets as a separate supplement, NOT multivitamins that include iron. They give you your daily requirement of about 8mg, but this is only an average for the average person and it sounds like you may need more than this at the moment. 65mg is fine. The amount of iron absorbed decreases with increasing doses. For this reason, it is recommended that most people take their prescribed daily iron supplement in two or three equally spaced doses. Here's a dietary supplement fact sheet about iron:

Re: I just started 65mg of iron...
I've been thinking about taking an iron supplement but in the past when I did so it was pretty hard on my guts. The better ones in liquid form that are supposed to be easier on your guts are more expensive.

I probably need it though, late 40's, been a vegetarian since I was a kid. I take a lot of other supplements, just not iron.

Iron supplements are a bad idea. You don't want a concentrated heavy metal going through your digestive system.
Think of it as a small ball bearing, and then think of the energy you need to break it down and use it.
A teaspoon of blackstrap mollases is -plenty- of iron.
You want vit and minerals from natural food sources.
I've tried the supplement route. It doesn't pay.
If you're anemic, get some nutritional yeast; -plenty of Bs delivered by a live food source.
If you put it in a vanilla rice or almond drink, it taste pretty good.
You'll feel the energy right away.

No...its not ok. Food has its own supplements...eat some spinach or other iron laden fare. If you can afford a computer...you can also afford vegetables and meat to eat...so go eat some and quit doing silly tablet form things of foods you SHOULD be eating. Its not that hard. If you dont like the taste...learn to cook it in a way you find appealing...ie with garlic/chilli/herbs/roasted/blanched/with cheese or in a freaking pie.
