We have had similar threads in the past but it is good to give a chance to newcomers. New ideas and suggestions may appear.

Let's get out of the way:

1)The Bible
2)Atlas Shrugged
3)Think and Grow Rich

Take it away...

The five thousand year leap by Skousen.

It is also Ron Paul's favorite book. It came out about 25-30 years ago. Still being sold on Amazon.

Celestine Prophecy

God's Debris: A thought Experiment & Religion War, both by Dilbert writer Scott Adams. (I know, go figure)
Both are quick reads which will challenge the way you consider things. I can't recommend these highly enough.

Lamb, by Christopher Moore.
A brilliant bit of writing and speculation about the "missing Jesus years". But, not to worry, it won't offend anybody. Unless you're very easily offended.

I would have to say "The Gods of Eden" by William Bramley.

Excelent book about the real history of our civilization and how it came to be and what to expect in the future.

But video wise I would have to go with either the Nassiem Lecture or Fractals: the colours of Infinity by Arthur C. Clark

"Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting" by Lynn Grabhorn.

Lynn writes both humorously and seriously about the power of feelings in tandem with thoughts to make things happen...in essence, creating our own reality.

She insists that talking about or thinking about things we don'twant in our lives actually is negative and attracts those very realities.

Somewhat autobiographical as she lets us share in her own personal experiences...highs and lows...brought about by roller coaster emotions. Finding the smallest things to make her laugh when troubles try to plague her daily existence.

A down-to-earth supplement to philosophical works by Gregg Braden, et al.
