a previous poster commented that the book made God sound like a whiny little boy ... hmmm, interesting observation.
I find the series acts more as a trigger and springboard for investigating ones own being, that is, the reactions one encounters during the read is more the point than the story line or 'plot' itself. I consider these books to be the most profound of any I have read.
I am also a fan of the Seth books and Carlos Castenada's series, but RUOW (especially Imprinting and Heartsong) has truly changed my life. |

As a teenager, it would have been "Creative Visualization" by Shakti Gawain....and "Celestine Prophecy".
Now as an adult, there are too many to list. But I think my favorites are still "Journey of Souls" and "Destiny of Souls".
JJ Hurtak's keys of Enoch was also very good. |

But... the book 'Pilgrim's Progress', and I guess I might would say... really 'kicked it off' for me, and so to speak, and when I was like 10 years old. And it's been just the most incredibly never ending ever changing adventure 'ever' (and, 'kicked it off' meaning as far as exploring these here 'inner realms' are concerned anyways).
But golly... there's been loads and loads of books along me way as well... and here's but some of them for ya.

Thats just what ive read or re-read in the past 2 years or so that had a huge impact on my psyche, Ive yet to read any Ayn Rand, which so many of you have mentioned, Not read any Kurt Vonnegut, No William S Boroughs so although i have read a huge amount of popular literature im missing some huge classics here and there.
I am a huge literature collector though, id hate to actually count how many books i have but its probably 200-300, ive actually started forgetting what i have and buying multiple copies, i have more than one copy of Stephen King Desperation, multiple Phil K Dick collections.
I need to offload some of my duplicates on ebay.
But yeah, Literature is one of my passions, probably stems from having a terrible English education at school, which then turned into a passion for books as i got older.
The Only decent book i ever read in school was Flowers for Algernon, no 1984, no animal farm, yeah my school was bad. |

I am totally astonished that no one here has mentioned this book! It is classified fiction but tells a real story of the power behind the powers. Caldwell had a devil of a time getting it published and researching the references tells why.
Anyone interested in knowing about NWO and its roots should check out this excellent tale... AND the bibliography!
Interesting timeline anomaly... I could SWEAR I read this book for the first time in '71 or '72... then again in '77 when I actually took the time to read the referenced materials... Now, I see it listed as Published in 1976... WTF? |

Read a really good book today called Why Do I Keep Doing That? By Dennis Wholely, in it was the following;
Yoga Technique - to break a bad habit
Make 2 lists. One lists all the bad things about the habit. The second lists all the good things that will happen to you when you break the habit. You read both lists once a day. That is all you do. You do not need to think about breaking the habit. You do noth have to guide yourself into controlling your cravings. You live normally, indulging in the “evil” you are attempting to expunge. There is no forcing of will, there is no guilt or blame or any other consequence or any other consideration required. All that is required is that you read the lists each day. All you are doing is storing information. Let your subconscious do with that, as it will.
Example Lists
Bad Things About Cigarettes
1. Stained teeth
2. Smelly fingers
3. Bad breath
4. Clothes stink
5. Very expensive
6. Cancer
7. Shortness of breath
8. Have to smoke outside
9. People think I’m weak
10. Filthy ashtrays
Good Things About Quitting Smoking
1. Cleaner hair
2. Breathe easier
3. Less tired in the morning
4. Saving money
5. Feel livelier/motivated
6. House doesn’t smell
7. Will be able to taste again
8. Feeling of freedom
9. Kids wont be subjected to smoke
10. No more tongue fungus
It is in the "Name a book that changed the course of your life" thread in GLP. |
