Well, if you checked your facts, instead of spewing dailykos propaganda, you'd know that Sarah Palin does not support teaching that in school.

You are a liar.

From NBC's Katie Primm and Mark Murray
By the way, as has been pointed out, Palin backed abstinence-only education during her 2006 gubernatorial race. In an Eagle Forum Alaska questionnaire, Palin gave this response to the following question:

Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?

Palin: Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support.

*** UPDATE *** NBC's Abby Livingston adds that a McCain spokesperson in May 2007 said the Arizona Republican supported abstinence-only education, too. "Sen. McCain believes the correct policy for educating young children on this subject is to promote abstinence as the only safe and responsible alternative. To do otherwise is to send a mixed signal to children that, on the one hand they should not be sexually active, but on the other here is the way to go about it. As any parent knows, ambiguity and equivocation leads to problems when it comes to teaching children right from wrong. Sen. McCain believes that there are many negative forces in today’s society that promote irresponsible and dangerous behavior to our children. The public education system should not join this chorus of moral equivocation and ambiguity.”

Public funding for contraceptives in schools is absurd.
It jut promotes promiscuity, leading to more teen pregnancie, more STD's, and young people in need of public support for them and their unwanted children.

and just think, if someone had handed bristol palin a couple condoms instead of a stern lecture on abstinence, maybe she wouldn't be knocked up!

and maybe she would left them in her other purse, or maybe the condom would have broken, and maybe I don't want my tax dollars buying condoms and sending the message to kid that it's okay to have uncommitted sex.

Let the parents buy their kids condoms if they so choose.

Or, let the kid figure out that if they can't afford to buy a condom, they sure a hell shouldn't be having sex.

Just like my mother, and Obama' mother. I guess you did everything your parents wished at 17. Do you think Bristol did not know what contraceptives are? Do you think she did not have a quarter to buy one out of the vending machine at the gas station?

so why didn't she?

maybe because abstinence-only education is leaving out the key point of what to do if you do decide to have sex.

Her position is that no sex education should be taught in schools, that should be left to the parent. However, IF public funds are to be used for public sex education, THEN abstinence only is the sensible course. Which makes much more sense to me than sending mixed messages to the kids.

Obama is pushing for "fuck all you want and we'll scrape out any accidents".
