CURRENT - OFFICIAL
Ike is still moving West-Southwest on the latest visible satellite loop. This is still on the OWsweather.com official track from a few days back. This track has been consistent in taking Ike through Cuba and into the Gulf Of Mexico. Doom and gloom is not our thing to say but If Ike continues on this track it will be a Historical Hurricane in the Gulf Of Mexico worse than Katrina ever was. If a Cat 6 existed, Ike would be a candidate to it. OWSweather.com is doing an official website alert for residents from New Orleans to the Florida Panhandle. If Ike continues this course we've plotted for a few days it will be a monster between where Katrina and Ivan hit. A new tracking map will be updated overnight tonight to see where the track goes. The tracking map will remain the same until then as Ike is projected to cross Cuba. Sometime on September 11-12th may be the day Ike hits Historical status if it continues this path.
if you are in this path you need to prepare now for the arrival of Ike no matter what. Do precautionary measures.

It might be just a wobble because of the explosion to Cat 4. The general motion of the clouds ahead of it and around it is WSW. |

Ok just looked. That is a wobble. The eye or center of gravity is off centered because Ike is strengthening once again. This could be a Category 5 shortly. |

Just had on the Memphis news one NOLA evacuee who had the good sense to stay here and re-build his life. Looks like soon ALL of NOLA and LA coast will wish they'd stayed around here, too. |

No one died after Gustav, even though 5,000 homes were obliterated. Thank goodness they have top notch emergency preparedness. Best in the world from what I gather,,,
But it seems you wont be satisfied until every Cuban is dead. That hatred is probably why aid is blocked from leaving Florida to relatives on the island... |

Western Cuba House Rebuilding in Full Swing
Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) Settlers and specialized brigades are speeding up rebuilding of over 90,000 houses that were damaged or destroyed by Gustav hurricane, when it hit the country"s western area.
Just few days after the natural disaster, those brigades finished rebuilding more than 2,000 houses in the municipalities hardest hit by the hurricane.
During a trip around those devastated localities, Communist Party First Secretary to Pinar del Rio province Olga Lidia Tapia urged to speed up the recovery actions, which amount to 500 houses rebuilt daily.

I missed that on the news with all the concern about
Gustav hitting NO.
That must have been Gustav at full strenth and accross the flatlands of Cuba.
90k of houses and then prob most crops.USA sure lucky the
storm weakned.IKE looks like a monster for the Bahamas.
