Why would they mess with Ron Paul delegates?? Does this mean he is STILL a viable candidate? I thought he gave up and is no longer competition to McCain. Also, I'm not sure I believe this shit yet - where is the video? Also, the Ron Paul delegates could have been tearing shit up, and security had to take care of them. |

Republicans believe in freedom of speech, so shut the fuck up!
I can only hope that day by day more of the blind faithful start to wake up. I know blowhards like PACNWGuy will go down with the ship, but for the sake of the country's future, I pray that more people snap out of it and start applying some critical thought to all the bullshit we are being fed. |

I found this article from World Net Daily. It starts out sounding like the Ron Paul backers were up to something shady, but as I kept reading I began to think it was the other way around. It does sound like they were being torpedoed.
If they ask delegates to reveal who they are voting before before they are selected, and then bind the delegates to a particular candidate, then why even bother with the sham of an "election"? Why not save us all a bunch of time and money and just say, "This guy is our Republican nominee," and dispense with all the nonsense?

Republican officials seemed to make Paul's supporters magically disappear during Wednesday night's roll call vote, in which the GOP convention officially nominated John McCain as the party's presidential candidate.
During the hour-and-a-half voting procedure, convention Secretary Jean Inman recorded each state's votes. Even though several states cast a portion of their votes for Ron Paul (among them Alaska, Oregon, Washington and West Virginia), none of those votes were repeated aloud by the secretary, and therefore they were not confirmed by the chair.
According to the Oklahoman newspaper, two delegates from Oklahoma also cast their ballots for Paul, but the microphone was cut off before their votes could be recorded.
The result of the roll call vote -- before it was made unanimous by acclamation -- recorded five votes for Paul, while a news reporter counted at least 15.
"There were several discrepancies," said Drew Ivers, Paul's delegate coordinator. "The RNC was roughshod, a little careless. They weren't as respectful as they could have been. I don't think that's very professional, and it's not a good reflection.
"They had five ladies keeping the score, plus the chairman, so they had six people and still couldn't get the numbers right."
The convention did not reject all dissenters to McCain's nomination. Two votes that the Utah delegation cast for Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, were promptly repeated and recorded in the final tally.

This is soooooo totally obvious and crooked. I beleive we all should repeatedly call and email your local Republican party with your complaints. Also call and email the national Republican party. Post this article from the LA Times to all blogs and message boards you frequent. Email this article to all in your address book.
And most importantly email ALL the television news channels in particularly Tucker Carlson of MSNBC and

I think Ron Paul had a little over 278 delegates. He refused to surrender them over to McCain. As far as I know, the other canidates, Romney, Huck, etc.al had all pledged their delegates to McCane.
The Secret Service or Blackwater (whoever) were trying to prevent any of Pauls deligates from casting votes for Paul.
15 of pauls delegates got to cast theirs. and Romney got 2
John McCain 2,343 Votes; Ron Paul, 15; Mitt Romney 2.
It makes me wonder, If somehow McCain gets disqualified for not being a citizen of the 50 states, or if he suddenly died, would Paul be next in line? |

If you believe the videos on Youtube, I think it is fair to say that Paul would have had more delegates had they not been stopped from entering votes. Look up the video "Tyranny at the Texas Straw Poll," and go from there.
I don't think that Ron Paul would be allowed to be next in line. |

So what's the math ? Total delegate seats ( I don't know ) less 2,660 votes cast subtotal should be the number of MIA votes. Might be some proxy factors. Again I don't know. |

Well Poof, it ought to be easy enough to document. Paul networks seem to be well knitted. The challenge is keeping this iron in the fire with so many distractions and causes to champion. The campaigners are motivated however and currently have the where withal to maintain momentum.
Then there's people like yourself, new to all this Lame Politics Game Show. Then soon, I'm sure, some of your circle of friends. Then theirs and so on.
Keep your sense of humor and sharpen your ridicule. You'll need it. It's all a sad, sad show.
