I do not own a gun but I would appreciate dearly lawmen who come on the side of the poor folks and quit honoring the rich scums who want wars for their own benefits. Agenda 21 reads 90% of the world depopulation is the goal. Why would these ruthless scums want to not eliminate too many lawmen and their families as well? Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac to be Put Under Federal Control, Sources Say

The government has formulated a plan to put troubled mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac under federal control, dismiss their top executives, and use government funds to prop them up, government officials told the two companies yesterday, according to sources familiar with the conversations.
Under the plan, the federal government would place the firms in a legal state known as conservatorship, the sources said. The value of the company's common stock would be diluted but not wiped out while the holdings of other securities, including company debt and preferred shares, would be protected by the government.
Instead of giving each company a big capital infusion up front, the government plans to make quarterly infusions as the companies' losses warrant, the sources said. This would be an attempt to minimize the initial cost of the rescue.
As the pace of discussions accelerated today, Treasury officials contacted senior congressional leaders, telling them they might be briefed on the plan this weekend and asking for telephone numbers at which they could be reached.
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have backed 70 percent of new mortgages in recent months, but have incurred vast losses on their loan portfolios as the housing market has tanked. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., the architect of the plan, and other government leaders have said the companies remain vital to preventing an even broader financial crisis and economic downturn.
The chief executives of the two companies were called into afternoon meetings today at the 17th Street NW offices of the Federal Housing Finance Administration, their direct regulator, according to sources familiar with the events.
Executives of the two companies were told to show up without being told of an agenda. Daniel Mudd, chief executive of Fannie Mae, was accompanied by outside lawyers. He showed up at around 3 p.m. for a two hour meeting. Richard Syron, chief executive of Freddie Mac, started his meeting at around 5 p.m., accompanied by several members of the Freddie Mac board.
Paulson, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, James Lockhart, the director of the housing finance regulator told the executives of the plan, which would strip them of their jobs.
Well our government did the right thing taking over control of these two companies. Someone made the right call by taking these two companies over. They have already proven they can not handle such a important part of the economy and should be relinquished responsibility. GOOD JOB!! |

The American dream was to go to college, get a good paying job then buy a home, find a mate and have kids. Well, now its just an illusion. Sure you go to college on student loans, then you get a good job until its downsized or went to China. As for the home well that is where many are its gone or will be shortly, as for the mate, maybe gone too? I am 62 yrs. old and I had seen a lot happen over the years. |

FANNIE and FREDDIE should have been closed down when they surfaced with the huge losses earlier in the year. The Bush bunch thought they could forestall the inevitable until after the elections. As it is, this only can serve to hurt the GOP who's major supporters are on the boards of each entity, and from whence their (Fannie Mae adn Freddie Mac) get most of their execs, too. It's hard to find a democrat in the place making more than a janitorial salary this time round.
Political cronyism saw to the deck being stacked with greedy republicans who as usual have stolen everything not nailed down!

Just read this elsewhere: Silver State Bank, with two billion dollars in holdings and 17 banks in AZ and NE has just been eliminated.
This is the 11th bank that has crushed under the current crisis. I didn;t see that on GLP yet, just saw it on other news agencies.
It makes it all the more likely that monday will be final for the US economy. So for all those who still haven;t done anything to take care of survival, have I mentioned this already today:

That's exactly what I was thinking. The Gov now owns your house, and you're paying for it double (tax) if your mortgage is with these banks.

You guys realize that we the taxpayers are expected to pay for this bailout of the crooks, again .
The government that helped the crooks reem us, and destroy the economy now expect we the victimized to pay for their corrupt friends debt.
What I want to know is , what does it take to stop them from adding this bull shit to the citizen's debt ?
I sure as hell don't owe this. If I can't afford a house to begin with, so don't have one, I refuse to pay the debt of those who obtained loans they couldn't afford, and the corrupt corporations' who thought it a great way to get rich.
How do we make it clear that if they screw up , they fail without bail outs. Just like the rest of us. If one of us had a business fail, you know full well the goverment wouldn't be helping us. |
