You people keep saying this everytime the dow drops 1 point. The only way an the global economy will collapse like your saying is a nuclear war or global natural disater.
The goverment is NOT bailing them out to become communists, it's doing it's FUCKING JOB by keeping america aflot. So do us all a favor and

It's not the job of the US Gov to bail out companies, let alone allow the Federal Reserve (private corp) to make these decisions and make the Treasury their lap dog. The more this goes on the more it looks like capitalistic socialism, just without the benefits of socialism for the tax payer. |

It scares me when I think the Government bought Fannie and Freddie now they own the buildings and can do whatever they want with them and to the people. So if the Government kicks you out who do you turn to?
That's exactly what I was thinking. The Gov now owns your house, and you're paying for it double (tax) if your mortgage is with these banks.

That is another interesting point. Does the US gov really own them, or is it the share holders (if they still allow them)?
This was the big shake up earlier when some of the international central banks found out that these companies might go insolvent. I really can't see the US allowing these shares to go belly up, despite what the "conservatorship" really means. They know those central banks can retaliate in other ways. Not to mention our country is staying afloat with 1 billion (or maybe it's trillion) of cash inflow from other countries. If that stops, guess what will happen to the remaining parts of the economy with a government that is technically insolvent? I don't think they have choice at the moment.
But back to my point. Let's say, for argument, that those prime shares or "counter party" ownership of these companies that is allowed to keep their hand in the game (not part of the US.gov), then technically wouldn't the owned or partially owned by foreign interests (regardless of who is paying the bill)? |

It will only cost the Feds about $10 Billion to buy out the shareholders of both Fannie and Freddie at Fridays close. I think shareholders get Friday closing prices just to try to minimize the noise. $10 billion is just a rounding error on the liabilities that we are taking on with this fiasco. |

Yes, better days are coming. IF you reread my post, you will see that I didn't say that there wasn't going to be alot of shit hitting the fan first - - paying of debt will not be fun. I said better times are coming. When TSHTF, which is kinda going on right now ... that's the time we need to be grounded in the Lord so that we can survive and then reap - - the restoration of all things is coming!

Jesus, Himself, spoke of restoration coming to us: 7, 10 or 100 fold - - for whatever you have lost or had stolen.
It will be a time of great rejoicing!

well Fannie and Freddie are actually dead but sorta held up by the corrupt lame bankrupt US gov. SOme other banks have crashed this weekend as well. I guess the last bottom is gone and so the market will collapse completely. At least, that is what is assumed in many articles on internet.
So yes - WTF - get the hell top the bank, get your money OUT and buy foodsupplies TODAY. You will not be able to make up for not going, after monday if it does go wrong!

If the Agenda 21 is factual which I believe it is then its factual the Insiders are doing quickly all the means to ruin the American people. To make it so we cannot pay our bills or maybe even have a place to live. Keep in mind the Government is paying off Fannie and Freddie means the Government owns those mortgaged buildings. That means Big Brother can do whatever it wish with those buildings. This is the part I am watching closely. Religious people get your eyes out of the clouds and put them on what your Government is doing to you. Quit using Jesus as if he will get you out from horrors coming. Why should he, America is a most sinful Nation, how many abortions does it do a day, in a month or year. How many innocent civilians in Iraq has it killed? The government are the ones that tried to get the mortgage companies to be more relaxed with the home owners that couldnt pay.. they even talked about lowering rates and hodling them steady for so many years.. nothing is going to happen when the government takes them over.. If anything they will help the home owners.. |

According to Fox New Channel about 1/2 an hour ago - "house democrat is saying Fannie and Freddie is a done deal" Plan will likely be announced later today.
As for your 350 point gain early, you might be right, bailouts have always worked to rally the markets in the past. However, nothing is certain in this game, especially when many (from what I have read today) think a big rally is also a done deal.
I remember back in April over the weekend and St Patrick's Day as rumours of a bailout of Bear Sterns spread, very few were confident that the markets would greet the news with a celebration. The fact that hurricane Gustav was a fizzer caused an early rally of 200 points last Tuesday that didn't even last the day. It's very difficult to put money on these things and in my experience it is ALWAYS luck rather than good management if you get it right.
I think it is the other markets and central banks' reaction that will be more important. Especially countries such as South Korea whose money and economy is 'under the gun' because of exposure to Fanny & Freddie.
This is a significantly dangerous and unpredictable time for the markets. Anything can happen at any time and probably will. |

Americans are dumber than shit. The government created the housing boom by holding interest rates artificially low. Now the government has a solution for the problem they created. Americans are subjects of a fascist enterprise controlled by TPTB. GREED rules America.
