Forgive me that I do not know Canada laws and regulations, but here is the link.

Can the PM dissolve the government? Is that part of your law there? Is it legal to do? It just doesn't seem koshure to say, "I'm dissovling government." How will the government run when it's "dissolved?"
Again, forgive me for my ignorance on Canadian law. This just seems like a sinister act to an outsider.
It's standard procedure in a parliamentary democracy. It doesn't mean the entire governement has been overthrown, if that's what you're thinking. |

Yeah, you gotta love our bullshit elections here in Canada. We have 5 different parties to choose from, and only two of which ever have a chance of winning, making the other 3+ irrelevant.
And the worst thing of all is that the Bloc Quebecois is allowed to run in federal elections despite having ZERO seats anywhere besides Quebec and focusing only on Quebec.
Does it make sense to anybody that in a FEDERAL election a party that only talks about Quebec and only cares about Quebec is allowed to run? How is that fair? They're not on MY ballot here in the west, so how can they run in a federal election? It's a vote for leader of the country, not leader of Quebec.
Fucking Quebec. And they wonder why the rest of the country hates their fucking guts. |

The Liberals are like a junior mafia or something, Jack Layton is a terrible choice for NDP leader and the party itself just says the opposite of whatever the current ruling party says. And the green party, well, if you Americans saw the candidates they tried to run, you'd laugh your collective asses off! Really sad.
Also, to add, the Conservatives under Harper are basically lame ducks. They haven't done shit since taking power.

besides, i dont have anyone to vote for, as well all know, it really doesnt matter who you vote for.
I call for PCs to get a slim majority or slim minority. average canadians think they have got an ok deal out of the pc's so far... heck look at the gst.

Why didn't you go and do research FIRST? Not only does it show that you're not too bright, you're also a lazy ass, just like 85% of your fellow Americans. A quick Google search would've shown you that dissolving Parliament happens and there's nothing "sinister" about it. I'm not saying fucked up shit doesn't happen, but there's nothing out of ordinary going on with the political system in Canada. The USA, however, with its election fraud and corruption is a whole other story. |

Yep - Harper is lowering taxes, and Dion wants a HUGE new tax - all at a time when the average voter is feeling the financial pinch. Canadians are usually the most sheep-like voters in the western world - but I think this time will be different.

Well all the conservatives have seemed to do has been institute more laws designed to put people in jail. But we don't have many jails in Canada, thats the way we like it.
The conservatives however are very keen on building more privatized jails, so stfu GOG. Unlike America we don't like putting our citizens in jail and prefer a form of social rehabilitation.

I'm holding my nose and supporting Stephane Dion, at the very least his government would give us subsidies to retro-fit our houses...this will help to lessen our fuel bills.
Whatever happens we must not give power to Stephen Harper, if he had been in power back in the day, we'd have US missile defence outposts throughout the country and Canadian soldiers dying in Iraq.
Canadians need to vote strategically to keep the Harper's Neo-Conservative from having a majority government. Ideally, I'd like to see a Liberal minority forced to do co-alition deals with the NDP. |

I can, they couched the child care supplemental that the liberals were going to introduce...
That would have improved my life dramatically and I was pissed, then they replaced it with a money supplement which was worth like 1 10th as much as the day care would have been.
Besides that program would have created hundreds of thousands of jobs, and made life bearable for hundreds of thousands of parents and made life livable for single mothers.
Other then that I can't complain too much. |
