Politics - The Great Distraction
Quote

Why do we put so much energy into these elections? The threads have been on and on about Obama and Palin as though our vote really counts, don’t we see it is simply another way to divide us? There are a few posters here that just get into a fury about their chosen candidate and I can’t get past the idea that it is all an illusion. Maybe this is the reason folks go to movies. I figure Shakespeare was right and the world is simply a stage and the men and women are merely players.

Just seems to me that why we are so caught up in the illusion, we’re missing the real events.

Thanks to Troll Patrol ...

hi Turtle

Totally agree, I dont even look at the politico threads because they are a waste of time.

I wonder what would happen if nobody voted?

The seek to divide us, and the funny thing is it is not a democracy. If it was a true democracy then all ppls would be represented, but as is only 50% of the ppl get their chosen views represented at the highest level. If it was supposed to be honest, then there would be no 'head' guy, and just the congress.

But we wont see that happen

I figured on a conspiracy site we could see beyond all that crap, but I am often disappointed, oh well, such is life, huh?

"fervent" chuckle I love that word

Yes it is disappointing, especially with the revelations of Dibold and the past 2 elections, and the numerous accounts of massive payouts from lobbyists.

Makes you wonder why especially alot here would choose to ignore those things and carry on such as they do.

But all I can say is that i know its all bs and i dont aspire to think any other way based on what i know. So let them have their illusion if they want, but it wont get them anywhere but maybe the loss of a little energy.

Jeeze Paradigm, it's enough to make one a little crazy. It's all I hear and see in the media, and I guess it is disappointing to me that I am seeing it here as well. Thought this was an oasis, you know, a time and place away, outside...

I think this year I will not vote, it's hard to take it seriously anymore. And I'm not sure I should subject myself to the energy that will be thick in our voting places, know what I mean?

I confess, when Ron Paul was right in there I was rooting for him big time and in that respect was right in with that crowd, but when I saw what they did to him in the News and at the debates it solidified it for me that it was all a game. It was never, and has never been fair or ballenced or in the ppls best intrests. And was still the best country for a long time, just think what other countries like Pakistan or Russia is like.

I just try and ignore the posts about this bs here, its unfortunate though because it seems 90% of the threads are about politico. He said/She said.....ugh

So how was your weekend?

 Quoting: Paradigm

My weekend was good, we played in a park last night, first set no one was there and I was ready to pack it up, second set we had a nice crowd, the hours had changed cause it's getting darker earlier, so we did a rocking 2nd set and the crowd was appreciative. Usually the park concert is 7-9, changed to 6-8, folks were confused.

This is our local community and I was getting bitchy, we do this stuff for free, but the second set made up for it all. Chris is off in his cave recording some new songs, so looks like I got new stuff to learn soon, good for me, keeps my brain, all four of them (drumming you know, for me only 3 since one foot just holds me up) active an alert.

How was your weekend? We could lament endlessly about the state of affairs in the world, but I'd rather hear about real life. hf

That sux no one was there for you first set, but im glad your second set went well. Thats very nice you do it for free, but those are the kinds of things that make a community.

lol, thats a great way to put it, i never thought of it like that, but your right, each one is concentrating on something different. I suppose guitar is like that but I dont really notice it anymore, it kinda just flows, but then again I dont sing so that leaves me more room to concentrate on playing.

Good, had a drink or 12 lol, cut the grass, got some of the house ready for the winter, put down a tune that needs to be polished and put to pictures. And tonight I get to fix my boys first school lunch...so im a bit excited about that. Other then that, I relaxed, might as well before I go back to school.

There is nothing like a drink after cutting the grass, yum. Sitting outside and seeing what you have achieved, nothing like it!

I'm trying to prepare the house for the next freaking storm, Fay left us 8+ inches of rain and I was biting my nails hoping the drainages ditches did their thing, I need to clear those things out!

Kids, schools and lunches make me ache a bit, I miss all that. Man, enjoy every moment. Like I said last night makes me a bit envious... take lots of pictures!!

What are you going to school for? That's very cool, I love learning!

And Holy Shit, just found out I'm going to be in a commercial, arrgh! I can do it, that's what I've been telling myself for the 4 years I've been in this band. Holy crap, I'll send you a copy.

Life is freaking amazing, strange and weird, we should enjoy it!

OMG!! You cook! Man we need to exchange emails so I can hit you up for info. That is so cool! But I understand how electric is better when there are kids in the house.

I actually worked in the electric field back in the day. I was an electrician's helper for a while, before the Clarence Thomas hearings, which changed the whole scope of things. After too much sexual harrassment, I went back to delivery of electrical supplies. Actually one of my best jobs, nobody hanging over my shoulder and lots of activity to keep me in shape and once the guys on the site understood I could actually handle and unload that stuff, they started helping, nice.

Of course you are right, the car guy thought the way I played drums was a gimmick, but then he kept looking at videos and discovered that was actually the way I did it. So... now he wants to put us in his commercials. They are really goofy commercials, right up our alley, cause we are, indeed, goofy.

Life is good, but sometimes I think I am at a crossroad, where I need to decide if I am going to go forward or just pass, I think I'm going forward. hf

 Quoting: Turtles Know

I thought that was a guy.

You know, one of those girly guys that wears makeup and dresses like a vampire (for some strange reason).
It is stated that one mans garbage is another mans treasure. I submit to you that the same can be said for information or knowledge. What is truth and religion to one man is a conpsiracy to another; and to another, that information could be utter nonsense.

Re: Politics - The Great DistractionQuote

I agree with you. Peoples votes DO NOT count. Even if there are NO conspiracies, people still DO NOT get a choice with the president and vice president. The US constitution is very clear.

We really are not required to have political parties. Thus, I agree with your statements about these things being divided.

A house against itself cannot stand. The hidden hand has been dividing us for the past century to weaken and conquer us. I'm hopeful we'll ban together soon one day.
