I think he is saying you don't hear or see the vice president much and most don't really think about being vice president.

always liked Biden, I think he is an intelligent man with a lot to say, But like many intelligent Republicans and Democrats with integrity have pointed out it is trash talk and sound bites that the people remember not intelligent thought process.

Re: Biden, Uh WTF???Quote

It was a very distasteful joke that JOHN KENNEDY made originally.

TIME magazine bitches.

Although Biden has been in the Senate 32 years longer than Obama has, the past week has been his first introduction to the unique phenomenon of Obamamania, speaking in front of roaring crowds of 20,000 or more. Far from being jealous the way Johnson reportedly was of Kennedy, Biden — for whom this could potentially represent the beginning of an eight-year political swan song — is savoring every moment of it. At a restaurant in Hamilton, Ind., on Sunday, Biden chatted with a table of diners. "John Kennedy often joked, 'I once had two brothers: one went to sea and the other became Vice President, and neither were heard from again,' " he said.

It still makes no sense whatsoever in any context...

Do you have a link to anywhere (other than Biden) attributing this to JFK?

FFS...

It was Alben Barkley who said it, and he WAS a VP...

[link to www.gpoaccess.gov]

Barkley loved the Senate and became the last vice president
to preside more than half the time the Senate was in session. He
was also the last vice president not to have an office in or near
the White House. Despite the honor of his vice-presidential position, Barkley missed being a senator. He enjoyed telling the story
of the mother who had two sons. One went to sea; the other
became vice president; and neither was heard from again. When
his vice-presidential term ended in 1953, Barkley happily ran for
Kentucky’s other Senate seat. His 1954 defeat of an incumbent
Republican returned Senate control to the Democrats by a one-
vote margin and made Lyndon Johnson majority leader.

Try decaff Larry...

The issue was JFK saying it or not...It makes no sense coming from JFK...

As the post before your unstable outburst shows, it was Alben Barkley who said it, not JFK:
