If Obama is Muslim, he has not been honest. Also, I doubt you would get a majority of US citizens to vote for a Muslim in the current climate - right or wrong. |

Its not the fact that he his a muslim. There is just to many un answered questions.
1. He wrote two books about his life and not once did he mention his 3 week trip to pakistan with his Pakistatn room mates. A time when Paikistan was full of radical terrorist and American citizens were not welcome. ( that would be a book in itself.)
2. His church he belonged to believes in Marxism

I didn't copy everything I had said in every previous post.
I don't necessarily believe that Barack is a Muslim. I don't know if he is or not. I have other reasons to dislike him as a viable candidate for presidency. People were asking, "What if he were Muslim" - i.e. Why would that be a big deal? Well, it would be a big deal because it would make him a HUGE liar - blatant actually.
I'm not sure which lies you are referring to with the GOP, but I detest lying no matter who is doing the lying. I'm not a Republican, I'm a Libertarian. |

I don't believe the muslim faith, in general, is something to be intimidated or frighted of as long as political decision for the greater good of a country is not religiously based.
As much as Obama scares the hell out of me, I don't think his muslim background will be an issue if he wins. I think there are more immediate concerns which will come to light IF he wins that will leave most people who voted for him going..."WTF did I just do!?"

Unlike all you you nutballs, I actually watched the video in its full context.
Here's what happened:
Snuffalufagus asked Obama about the rumors that he was a muslim. Obama insinuated that the McCain camp may not have started the rumors, but they weren't doing enough to combat them. Snuffy says that McCain never said Obama was a muslim and Obama says, "McCain never said anything about my muslim faith", meaning "McCain never said I had a muslim faith". Obama didn't even slip up... what he said was structurally correct, but the Republican Stephanopolis made sure to correct him, thus pointing it out to all of the nut jobs on sites like this.
Obama is not a muslim. What he IS, is a Harvard graduate who taught constitutional law. You can compare that to someone who graduated at the VERY bottom of his class.
We have 2 real choices this election and one of them is clearly and significantly smarter than the other one. This fact (and it's a matter of public record) should matter a whole lot more to a whole lot more people.
If you actually believe that Obama is a muslim, then you are very, very, very, oh god, so VERY, VERY stupid. Please kill yourself, for the good of mankind. |

The book "The spirit of Islam," by the Muslim scholar, Afif A. Tabbarah was written to promote Islam. On page 247, Tabbarah stated: "Lying is not always bad, to be sure; there are times when telling a lie is more profitable and better for the general welfare, and for the settlement of conciliation among people, than telling the truth. To this effect, the Prophet says: 'He is not a false person who (through lies) settles conciliation among people, supports good or says what is good."

The noted Islamic commentator, Al-Tabary explained Surah 16:106 as a verse that had been revealed to Mohammed after he learned that Ammar Ibn Yasser was forced to deny his faith in Mohammed when kidnapped by the Banu Moghera tribe. Mohammed consoled Ammar by telling him, "If they turned, you turn." (Meaning: if they again capture you, you are allowed to deny me again.)
These and similar passages from the Quran clearly reveal that Muslims' unintentional lies are forgivable and that even their intentional lies can be absolved by performing extra duties. It is also clear that if forced to do so, Muslims can lie while under oath and can even falsely deny faith in Allah, as long as they maintain the profession of faith in their hearts.
