My two year old daughter is due for her vaccinations, are any of them safe?
My two year old daughter is due for her vaccinations, are any of them safe?

Also, what will I need to do to refuse the shots without having a problem?

Thanks.

The single use ones do not contain mercury. They're more expensive, and you get to pay in full or at least the difference. Talk to the ped about single use ones and if they don't use that type, find out who does in your area. Most of the Ped's in my area have converted completely over to the single use. As to if they're safe? Is any vaccination safe? Is breathing the air or drinking the water or eating the grocery produce safe? It's likely all a matter of what's safer.

Religious belief. Some states accept philosophical belief.

If your Dr. has a problem with it, get a new Doctor-

My daughter is 2 and a half- has had zero shots since she was 6 months (my next child will get none at all, I know better now)

Ask the doctor / nurse if they use Themerasol (aka mercury) as a Preservative.

At this point, you do not need to "do" anything in order to refuse the vaccinations. You can just tell the nurse or doctor "no" or "I would like to wait until I have fully researched the issue before making a decision" or "I'm delaying vaccinations".

The only time you'll have a problem with your child not being vaccinated is if you enroll him/her in daycare or public school. That's when you'll need the religious / philosophical / medical waiver. Laws vary state to state.

As for safety and efficacy, that's really something you need to research for yourself. I'm assuming your child has been vaccinated up until this point, so your child has already been exposed to multiple vaccines, correct?

I believe thiomersal has largely been phased out in the vaccinations on shelves today, but there are plenty of other adjuvants to be concerned about.
