Breaking: U.S. to sell Israel Air Force new bunker-buster bombs | |
Egg. (OP) User ID: 502915 United Kingdom 09/13/2008 11:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Iran renews nuclear weapons development: 50-60 tons of uranium goes missing from nuclear facility. Nuclear experts responsible for monitoring Iran's nuclear programme have discovered that enough enriched uranium, which if processed to weapons grade level could be used to make up to six atom bombs, has disappeared from the main production facility at Isfahan. American spy satellites have identified a number of suspicious sites, which the Iranians have not declared to nuclear inspectors, that intelligence officials believe are being used for covert research. The new discoveries emerged as it was revealed that Israel had asked America for military supplies, including "bunker buster" bombs and re-fuelling planes, suitable for an attack on Iranian nuclear installations. Anonymous Coward User ID: 493254 United States 09/13/2008 11:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look at the second story I linked to. Quoting: Egg. 502915That's what changed their mind. The Iranians have been smuggling uranium of their Isfahan complex, apparently. Thanks, missed that before. Israel seems to be just itching to bomb Iran ASAP. |
Egg. (OP) User ID: 502915 United Kingdom 09/13/2008 11:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah, I agree. What makes it even more interesting is that Medvedev said yesterday that an attack upon Iran would be 'unacceptable'; now, I don't expect Russia to get involved militarily, but when Israel does strike Iran, I think the Russians will probably cut off diplomatic ties with the U.S. and Israel - and I also think they might help Iran rebuild it's nuclear program, too. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 502915 United Kingdom 09/13/2008 11:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I thought Israel was the fourth largest arms dealer themselves. They are just gonna resell these. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 502027Israel asked for these 'bunker-buster' bombs specially. The U.S. knows what Israel needs them for and intends to do with them (that's why they rejected the first request until this latest development). If it was just a case of Israel selling the stuff onto some other country, the U.S. may have accepted the initial request. They didn't - because it's not. This is basically a green light now, I think. |

This does look very ominous!!! Looks like a GREEN light to me. Quoting: Green Light or Amber??? 397067Actually, I don't think Israel has any of this kind (GBU-39). As you can see here: During demonstrations, the GBU-39 - labeled by the manufacturer, Boeing, as a Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) - has successfully penetrated more than 1.8 meters of thick reinforced concrete with a 23-kilogram warhead. The GPS-guided weapon is said to have a 50-percent probability of hitting its intended target within 5-8 meters, which should minimize collateral damage. will allow the IAF to hit many more bunkers than currently possible. Although each bomb weighs 113 kilograms, its penetration capabilities equal those of a one ton bomb, according to professional literature. This is what Israel is going to get from the U.S. now; this is what they need to destroy the underground facilities. They do have the GBU-28 (received before and during the Lebanon War in '06), but I don't think it's sufficient to use on Iran - that's why they asked for these new bombs. And now they've got them. Green light. |

The events that we're now seeing unfold will shape the whole of this century. That's not hyperbole; just think of the early years of the 20th century and you'll get the point. And we haven't even brought up that Venezuelan military 'exercise' yet. Or Lebanon. Or NATO. Or Ukraine, Iraq, Georgia and many of the other flashpoints in the world right now. We dont know the exact payload that was on the two bobmers to V yet-- but that they were not nukes but experimental bombs... My suggestion is that this isnt even a weapon delivery but actually a cocaine Pickup job to continue to fuel the FARC/Hezbollah cocaine to EU dealings. The bombers were escorted By NATO...... Anonymous Coward User ID: 476168 Canada 09/14/2008 01:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | U.S. to sell Israel Air Force new bunker-buster bombs Quoting: Egg. 502915Despite reservations in Washington regarding a possible Israeli strike on Iran, the American administration will supply Israel with sophisticated weapons for heavily fortified targets, the U.S. administration announced. The U.S. Department of Defense announced it would sell the Israel Air Force 1,000 new smart bombs, rumored to significantly enhance the IAF's military capabilities. The deal was approved amid public and secret messages from Washington, with the Americans expressing their reservations about a possible Israeli strike against the Islamic Republic's suspected nuclear sites. The Pentagon's announcement, which came on Friday, said the U.S. will provide Israel with 1,000 units of Guided Bomb Unit-39 (GBU-39) - a special weapon developed for penetrating fortified facilities located deep underground. The $77 million shipment, which includes launchers and appurtenances, will allow the IAF to hit many more bunkers than currently possible. Although each bomb weighs 113 kilograms, its penetration capabilities equal those of a one ton bomb, according to professional literature. Anonymous Coward User ID: 476168 Canada 09/14/2008 01:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That would be interesting. I was referring to the naval exercise - I'm not sure when that is, exactly. Quoting: Egg. 502915Doesn't Israel already have them? I think Israel has the GBU-28 - not the GBU-39 (which they will shortly). Oh man, you know what that means? False flag in Israel. Israel attacks Iran. US and Russia go to war etc.... No elections. I hope I'm wrong. |
Egg. (OP) User ID: 502915 United Kingdom 09/14/2008 01:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can we have a clarification here? Quoting: J.H.F.C. 492970How can the U.S. "sell" Israel anything if the U.S. gives Israel the money to buy what it sells them? I would like to see this question settled here. Yeah, that's the twisted paradox, isn't it? You give me money, and then I buy something from you with the money that you just gave me in the first place. The $77 million shipment, which includes launchers and appurtenances, will allow the IAF to hit many more bunkers than currently possible. The Pentagon's announcement also said that the U.S. would help upgrade the Israel Defense Forces' patriot anti-aircraft missiles - which Israel uses as part of its missile-interception array. Israel will also receive 28,000 LAW (Light Anti-Tank Weapon) tube launchers for land forces. |

Quoting: J.H.F.C. 492970How can the U.S. "sell" Israel anything if the U.S. gives Israel the money to buy what it sells them? I would like to see this question settled here. Israel has many ways of funneling U.S. money into their pockets. In Georgia they had a president who was a zionist dual citizen. The U.S. gives Georgia money in aid and they give it to Israel to purchase their weapons and training. |
