Anyone have a natural cure for Strep throat?

I've read somewhere that when you gargle,you have to lean your head back,cause most of the germs are in the back of your throat.
My father gave us kids cattle antibiotics when we were really sick.

This is a strange post. You can't know if you have strep unless you get tested for it by a doctor, who upon getting a positive result would order you an antibiotic at the nearest pharmacy.

Strep can cause all types of medical problems. You should get the proper medication for it. Maybe look for a free clinic near where you live.

It worked for me. You've got to gargle with straight ACV in the AM and PM. And, take three times a day: two tsp ACV mixed with 1/2 tsp honey with a couple drops of collodial silver(or, alternatively, stirred with a silver spoon). For about five days just as if you were dosing with antibiotics. You'll smell like ACV on about day three, if not up your dosage by about a 1/2 tsp per dose. This cleared my throat and stuffed achy ear.

I almost died in my 20s from a case of strep, i didnt want to go either due to no insurance. I waited so long my throat was actually crystalized and bleeding and swollen shut. the doctor charged me 30 bucks and gave me samples. She told me a few more days and i would have died. It was very painful, i could only swallow gatorade for a few weeks, then mashed potatos and stuff and it would make me cry to try to swallow even that. if it gets into your bloodstream your fucked. dont mess around with strep

strep thoat is nasty stuff. I can remember when I was a kid everyone in my family got it except for me. They went to the doctor and got it cured and then they all got it again, then got cured and then got it again. Thats when the doctor decided to have everyone in the family tested and it turned out that even though i was the only one in the family that had never got strep thoat....I was the carrier of the germ that kept giving it to the rest of my family members.

Fucking around with strep throat can cost your your life.
If you're determined to treat it yourself, I'd gargle with H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) 3 percent, like Walmart sells for less than $1, about once per hour. spit it out and don't swollow, but a little won't hurt you too bad if you do.


You don't have time now, but Calvet (california vet supply) sells pharmaceutical grade antibiotics for about 20 bucks for a big bottle that everyone should order and keep on hand. they have keflex, amoxicillin and tetracycline for 20 to $25 for a bottle of 100 capsules. It's labeled bird stuff, but it's pharmaceutical grade.

Actually, you can tell, within probabilities. If your throat hurts like a motherfucker, it's probably strep. it can get into and destroy your heart.

My doctor told me that one of our local grocery store pharmacies gives Amoxicillin free (you need a prescription of course). Call your dr. and tell them you can't afford a visit because you don't have insurance and ask them what to do. He will hopefully tell you where you can get a prescription and then take it somewhere you don't have to pay. Call around. Please, please do not try to cure it yourself because it can be very dangerous. Hope you are better soon.

If you're taking peroxide everyday, I would get the food or technical grade.

I thought about posting it on the hard times series, but I can't remember the names to pull them up. Don't let the bird thing scare you, it's the real stuff and I've taken it. In fact, I think they're having a sale right now.
If you stock it and the flu comes around, you have a leg up on everyone else. If your lungs do become filled with infection, you got the antibiotics in your fridge to fight it. I bought two bottles of each for myself and family.

Gargle with salt water for a sore throat. I am serious. Fist sign of throat pain and gargle. I think the salt water shrinks the inflammation or something. Whatever, it works.

i used to get bad sore throats, tonsilitis etc.

a guy taught me this simple recipe. It helped alot. Sometimes miraculously.

crush up 1 regular aspirin, not tylenol. very fine powder.

mix it with water and get it to dissolve as much as
possible. some will stay in a cloudy form.

gargle with the solution. you can either swallow it or spit it out. it doesn't matter which.

be careful because it will make you want to choke a bit. so stay in control of your gag reflex.

the aspirin should kill the pain and reduce the inflammation and will speed the healing. at least it did for me.

I used to get strep throat every year as a teenager -

One thing that helps for sure is gargling with warm salt water every couple of hours.

Also, if you have a bit of a fever, leave it alone, do not take aspirin unless it gets to be a high fever, in which case you should DEFINITELY go to a Dr. Fever is helping fight the infection.

Another thing you must do is immediately STOP using all forms of dairy until the strep is gone. No milk, ice cream, butter, cheese, etc. Also, STOP using all forms of sugar or sweetener. The only exception is honey, which is a disinfectant.

Don't sleep in a draft, or with a fan or AC blowing right on you all night.

Take some olive oil and put a little on your neck and massage the area around your throat, try to feel the swollen lymph glands and gently massage them to release the congestion. When you are done, wrap a piece of cloth (e.g., clean dishtowel, cashmere scarf, old cotton blouse) around your throat to *keep it warm*. (This tip about the massage and wrapping the throat is from years and years of experience, do not discount it.) Your neck is one of the coldest parts of your body, and that makes bacteria happy.

When I was young, I didn't know about Oil of Oregano, but if I were starting to get a sore throat now, I would take two drops right under the tongue every two hours until I started to feel better (which would be in about 4 - 6 hours), then drop back to a couple of times a day. It is miraculous stuff. You feel really sick, you take the Oil of Oregano, and then you're well, it's quite astonishing actually. (Be extremely careful not to get it on your hands or near your eyes, yikes).

Apple cider vinegar helps, too. I do not think you should take it straight, maybe two tablespoons to a half glass of water will kill bacteria without assaulting your already painful throat.

Actually they were probably pharmaceutical grade and just as pure as what you would get at the store. Once in college I took my dog's erythromyicin and it worked just fine. Please note vet gave her two weeks worth for a skin infection that was totally healed in a few days; so I had some extra on hand.

For Strep throat,

nothing NOTHING is better than zinc.

They used to make chewable orange flavored in 500 mg, not anymore, can't find em.

So just bite the bullet and chew or let dissolve a 1000mg plain, horrible tasting tab. I'd do it twice a day.

Guaranteed to heal the throat fast.
