Anyone have a natural cure for Strep throat?

Hey OP if you do live in Florida our wonderful grocery chain, Publix, has done Wal-Mart one better and they GIVE away a wide variety of antibiotics as long as you have a prescription. Most of the major ones are free, in generic form. They don't ask any questions...even if you have insurance or if you drive up to the store in a mercedes, the antibiotics are free. If you can pheneggle the prescription from a doctor just take it to Publix. Otherwise if you really can't afford the doctor visit go for veterinary meds AS LONG AS you know what you can safely take. Keep benadryl on hand in case of allergic reaction. I agree with others on this post who say don't take chances with strep.

There appears to be lots of good advice here, but if it isn't working get to the doctor. I usually eat pickles and suck on honey for a sore throat and drink hot tea. Vitamin C always helps. Keeping warm when you sleep is important too. Doing things to keep your immune system strong will prevent infections like this.

May not be exactly natural, but good old fashioned brown iodine antiseptic solution, watered down and gargled (don't swallow, although it's not dangerous unless you have a thyroid condition iirc..).

They sell it in little bottles, no scrip needed, and there should be instructions on the bottle.

Works better than anything I've tried. Used to suffer a lot as a kid with nasty and persisting sore throats. Since I started doing this as soon as I feel one coming on, haven't had a problem.

I get strep throat often. The best thing is 1000 mg. of vitamin C with rose hips. Take one an hour with a full glass of water. In a couple of hours you will notice the pain receding. By the 4 or 5th hour, it should be gone.

Only vitamin C with rose hips works. It's the rose hips that heals.

3500mg of Lysine (1500 in morning 2000 at night) will help the strep heal but what will "cure" or get rid of the strep; I know of no method.

extra hot sauce gargled right out of the bottle...you'll feel it burn the exact spot that hurts...works for me

You might try gargling with salt water with a few drops of tea tree and lavender essential oils in it. They are mildly antimicrobial.

However, strep is nothing to screw around with. If it lodges in the valves of your heart it can damage them and leave you needing a heart transplant.

Are you sure it's strep and not just a sore throat? Usually it takes culturing to be sure.

You can also work on upping your immune system with vitamins, garlic, and several herbs. Do an online search.

Also, some types of honey manuka honey? have antimicrobial properties and can be soothing. Try hot tea with green tea and follow with a teaspoon of honey that you allow to dissolve slowly on your throat.

If it's just a regular sore throat and not strep, that might do it.

If sinus drainage is making it worse, try a little peppermint, eucalyptus and tea tree essential oils in a steaming pot of water on the stove. Add menthol crystals or some vicks vaporub if you have it. Stand near the steam and breath it, and it should open up your head and help you clear it.

Also, shower steam helps. If you have lavender and tea tree essential oils, try soaking in a hot tub with several drops of those oils added to it.

Yes its something ive done for years and it works awesome. Gargel with warm salt water.

yep i sure do, anyways dont mock me or laugh but im serious, went to bed one nite ago two mo. ago. with sore throat, came on rapip couldnt swallow hurt like heck , woke up next morning said awww in the mirror with my flashlight and saw these white patches that look like caliuflower , oh my god i almost chet my drawers, anyways no i didnt have no oral sex or anything bad done, so went on google and did this one cap of perixide with one cap water threetimes a day and wala gone almost instant patches from the tonsils area and also dranked raw apple cider vin. three times a aday with lem. juice gone lol

Try oil pulling with coconut oil twice a day. That means swishing coconut oil around your mouth (not gargling) for 10 minutes, then spitting it out.

This is more about prevention probably, but it might help to cure it as well.

33% food grade hydrogen peroxide 6 drops in 8oz water gargle. Will be gone in 12hrs. Do it again in 6 hours.

i cooked 3 cloves of garlic and 1 table spoon of salt and a thin single slice of an onion and a 1/2 table spoon of sage, i have had bad strep throat for almost a week, as soon as i started drinking the warm mix a few minutes lateri felt a world better my back throat was swollen and really sore. At this point it doesnt hurt to swallow.
