NASCAR crowd down by 10% Now that's real DOOM! since NASCAR has become so commercialized and all the rule changes, limiting speeds and "the car of the future crap" I have not watched a race . Dale SR said it best, if you do not want to go fast then you are in the wrong sport. 1985 talladega, Bill Elliot speed down the back stretch was 217 mph. NOW with the speed limit rules it may be 185mph ,BORING watching 30-42 cars play follow the leader as nobody really has any advantage.
