This is more of a scientific approach to the world. It's practice tends to lead to a more flexible belief system.

Cognitive Accommodation or Assimilation? - That is the question.

Do we change our beliefs when new information becomes available (accommodation), or do we change the evidence to maintain the belief system (assimilation)?

In other words, does one's approach to the world tend more towards reasoning, science, and logic, or more towards faith and tradition?

One is more cognitive conservatism and the other is cognitive liberalism.

Why do you think most pharmaceuticals and new medical technologies come out of the US? It must be because our healthcare is "the worst in the world"....
