These people don't know the difference between baking soda and baking powder.

Baking soda is the deodorizer, cleaner, toothpaste and cooking substance. Bicarbonate soda.

Baking powder is only used in small amounts for cooking, and has an aluminum derivative in it.

Toss it in the trash.

Baking Powder is mostly baking soda, with cornstarch and cream of tartar added. I imagine that any other uses would be similar to baking soda. If you google cream of tartar - eHow says it can be used to clean rust from fabric and to clean the bath tub. Google cornstarch and it is used for cleaning as well - remove ink stains from carpet, gives carpet fresh scent, lift scorch mark from clothing, and the list goes on and on.

So, it would certainly stand to reason that you could use it as an mild abrasive cleaner (like Comet) or in the laundry to aid in stain removal.

If its baking soda(bircarb of soda) half a teaspoon with two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and 250ml of water on an empty stomach cures allsorts from acid reflux, infections, inflamations, warts and other stuff.

Yes, this is all baking soda! Can boil in pans where you burned something to loosen the gunk.

Hmmmm...well, baking SODA has many uses, for sure, but I've only ever used baking POWDER for baking.

I use baking soda for many things:

- homemade toothpaste: baking soda, virgin coconut oil, sea salt, xylitol, and peppermint essential oil. Can also use plain baking soda on teeth. My teeth are so white now; I get compliments all the time.

- homemade deodorant: baking soda, cornstarch, virgin coconut oil. Lately, I've been adding a few drops of vanilla and peppermint essential oil; I smell amazing now. No artificial deodorant smell! :)

- washing my face. I have flawless skin. Use coconut oil instead of cream, and castor oil at night for wrinkles.

- washing my hair (google "No Poo" -- no shampoo). I rinse with apple cider vinegar, and my frizzy/curly hair is now soft waves/curls -- no frizz, and I don't use any hair products at all.

- washing clothing. Just throw it in the washer.

Funny, I can't think of any more, but I know there are many more uses. I buy several boxes each month lol.

Bicarbonate of soda or baking soda has many different uses in the household. Although much more expensive products have been developed over the years to do the same jobs, baking soda can work for you just as well, if not better. Use it in the following ways:

1. To make your own baking powder, stir and sift together 2 parts of Cream of Tartar to 1 part baking soda and 1 part cornstarch.

2. Be sure to keep an extra box of baking soda by your stove in case of grease or electrical fire. Scatter the powder by the handful to safely put it out.

3. Keep a container of baking soda in your garage as well as in your car to put out a fire. It won't damage anything it touches.

4. Baking soda will also put out fires in clothing, fuel, wood, upholstery and rugs.

5. Clean vegetables and fruit with baking soda. Sprinkle in water, soak and rise the produce.

6. Wash garbage cans with baking soda.

7. Soak and wash diapers with baking soda.

8. Oil and grease - stained clothing washes out better with soda added to the washing water.

9. Clean your fridge and freezer with dry soda sprinkled on a damp cloth. rinse with clear water.

10. Deodorize your fridge and freezer by putting in an open container of baking soda to absorb odors. Stir and turn over the soda from time to time. Replace every 2 months.

- Caustic soda = Sodium Hydroxid or natrium hydroxid. pH = 12.0 Use it to unblock drainings or heavy cleaning purposes.

I read every answer to the question "other uses for baking Powder" most of you dudes keep mentioning baking soda......we're talking baking powder here. Apples and oranges....and too many of you are doin' too much crack.

There is a diffrence, how hard is it to realize the diffrence between Baking POWDER and SODA?????? Please reread!! Question "BAKING POWDER not SODA" is there anything else you can use BAKING POWDER (in a can not a BOX) for other then baking and don't say DRUGS, because unlike you, I care about life, and I DON'T use drugs or make them! If your going to be a JERK about it and say something about making DRUGS or what ever you use it for, PLEASE keep your comment to yourself and make your DRUGS and leave the rest of us alone! SICK of paople who think drugs are the ansewer if it was the answer WHY DOES YOUR LIFE SUCK SO BAD???
