Right, first off major props to the OP, and to the Seb dude - very good short movie.

It sounds totally spot on with regards to the way things have been done in the past.

I was thinking the other day about the cold-war movies that started to come out in the 50s; always about the "commies" and therefore Germany/Russia/China, and how they were the enemy. Well, from that they became the real "enemy" that we in the west were meant to fear.

To me it looks like the movies were used to ingrain it in our subconscious that we should fear them - totally unjustified, but it did the job.

What do we have now, or at least for the past thirty years or so - movies about aliens, about them coming to destroy us (aliens, independence day, mars attacks, terminator, etc etc etc). They are our new fear, or at least in fiction for now, but i guess the "commies" were our fictitious enemy in the beginning.

So i reckon this movie hits the nail on the head, i think we are and have been primed for some time for the inevitable attack by aliens. It makes sense; the black-govs have all the space ships ready, attack us, blame the aliens, which we would be doing anyway, then bam! we as a world will do what we can/are told to because its in our interest to do what the gov advises, its the best scapegoat; fictitious aliens.

We are the sheeple, the gov is our shepherd and the politicians are the sheep dog.
