CURRENT - OFFICIAL
Tropical activity over Haiti and Puerto Rico is a very interesting area right now. This area may develop into a named system over the next several days. If it does, pattern favors a direct Northward movement into the New York City up to Canada Coastal zones.
Timing is everything and if this storm can catch the Eastern end of a low pressure system that will be over North Carolina by the 25th of this month, it will swing North at a very fast rate.
All eyes are watching this developing system.

The max category I believe a possible hurricane would hit NYC would be a 3. I don't think Kyle will get that strong and directly affect NYC. IMHO at least. And I live here.

Kyle will be a no event , What the real event is going to be is the Sub Tropical storm that is developing along the coast . The Carolinas have all kinds of warnings out .
This would be a Hybrid Low , Could well bomb too , 24mb in 24 hours .
To early for a nor easter and not to late for a tropical system
This and a Extreme pressure gradient should create hurricane force conditions along the US East Coast . And the less Kyle would develop the more this Bomb Low will ... |

I just came back from Ocean City, Maryland yesterday. It was very windy and the surf was very, very rough and high on Friday and Saturday. They are calling for a repeat of these conditions starting today I believe and it may be worse than what it was this past weekend. Also are expecting severe beach erosion. I already saw a lot of it this weekend.
So there may be some truth to this. |

I said the models showed the system moving into the gulf. That was exactly what the NHC said at that time.
You know, kinda like ole' Kevin first predicted Ike would do nothing and go out to the Atlantic?
