Re: Is the Debunker King crazy -- or what??!!??
our well is now cut over to PV
DK, translation please?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 506675

Sorry.

Our well is run by an alternating-current (ac) motor which pumps the water from the ground and into a pressure tank. the well is pretty shallow (~25 ft), but by adding the work to get the pressure tank's pressure up to 45 psi, it's the power equivalent of pumping the water up about 130 feet.

The motor, being an AC type, ran off regular grid power (110 volts, 50 Hz), just like in your house.

What I did was to get four Surrette batteries and a 160-Watt photovoltaic (PV) module to charge them. The direct current (dc) output from the bateries goes through an inverter which changes it to alternating current. The well pump thinks it's looking at grid power, but it really isn't.

Given that there isn't much rain where I live (less than 10 in/25 cm per year), I can be assured of about 6 hours of full sun a day in the summer and 4.5 sun-hours in the winter.

The battery capacity is twice as large as it needs to be, but I got the extra batteries to provide autonomy for them on those days where it's overcast and the PV modules don't produce any electricity.

I'm also working on a circuit which will let the big Surrettes charge all my other batteries, whether gel-cells, sealed lead-acid for the car and the bike, or all the little NiMH batteries for the laptop, radio, cameras, and flashlights.

It's not feasible to use PV to run a house (heating, cooling, cooking, etc.) -- not even a little one like the cabin. I can cook with a dutch oven and sweat in the summertime, but if i don't have a guaranteed supply of potable water, I will die.

If the grid goes, I will be uncomfortable (hey, I like air conditioning and a microwave oven) but at least I'll survive!!

Wow! Duncan, I have been here at least as long as you, perhaps a little longer. You do know me, I share the same name as your wife and used to share the same vocation. ;-D I just never bother logging in these days....easier to post ac.

This is most unusual talk for you, and I must say coming from this woowoo, totally unexpected. Interesting times.

Cheers mate!

Re: Is the Debunker King crazy -- or what??!!??
I don't see that [oil shortage] happening.

The supply is pretty secure, 70% to 80%. We get 40 percent from our own sources in the US. Another good part of it comes from Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela.

Venezuela could be questionable but their oil is not refinable by many other places than the US.

The other big player is Saudi Arabia. I don't think there is a problem ther unless terrorists do something to harm that infrastructure.

There should be a lot of new wells in the US that should be coming online in the next year and a half.

Also if things got really tight there is always the option of not selling Alasken oil to the Japanese.

If we absolutely had to we could work a way to do with 20% to 30% less.

If that situation arose EVERYONE needs to keep a cool head and not panic.

Eveything will work out.
 Quoting: G. House

I'm not saying that we're going to "run out" of oil; my belief is that we're already running out of easily exploitable oil. To quote from Matt Savinar at LATOC:

"The issue is not one of "running out" so much as it is not having enough to keep our economy running. In this regard, the ramifications of Peak Oil for our civilization are similar to the ramifications of dehydration for the human body. The human body is 70 percent water. The body of a 200 pound man thus holds 140 pounds of water. Because water is so crucial to everything the human body does, the man doesn't need to lose all 140 pounds of water weight before collapsing due to dehydration. A loss of as little as 10-15 pounds of water may be enough to kill him.

"In a similar sense, an oil based economy such as ours doesn't need to deplete its entire reserve of oil before it begins to collapse. A shortfall between demand and supply as little as 10 to 15 percent is enough to wholly shatter an oil-dependent economy and reduce its citizenry to poverty.

"The effects of even a small drop in production can be devastating. For instance, during the 1970s oil shocks, shortfalls in production as small as 5% caused the price of oil to nearly quadruple. The same thing happened in California a few years ago with natural gas: a production drop of less than 5% caused prices to skyrocket by 400%.

"Fortunately, those price shocks were only temporary.

"The coming oil shocks won't be so short lived. They represent the onset of a new, permanent condition. Once the decline gets under way, production will drop (conservatively) by 3% per year, every year. War, terrorism, extreme weather and other "above ground" geopolitical factors will likely push the effective decline rate past 10% per year, thus cutting the total supply by 50% in 7 years."

I've been a little worried lately, not about the financial meltdown because I welcome it as it signals the end of fascist control, but about any violence or possibility of martial law that might accompany it.

Now that Kunz has "seen the light", his record of being on the wrong side perpetually gives me reason to relax. If Kunz thinks it will happen, I'm betting 99 percent that it won't, or that it will be short lived at worst.

"This is Matthew with loving greetings and our perspective of the potential for a "very substantial and disruptive" event, perhaps even another "9/11," happening during the next sixty days. The collective consciousness, or universal mind, that some individuals have the ability to tap into includes all thought forms, both light and dark, from The Beginning of Creation. Relative to dark thought forms, those of antiquity were attracted by those in the planning of "9/11," and the force of that combined energy enabled the Illuminati to manifest that tragic day. That is when Earth chose never again to experience such death and destruction at the hands of dark ones, and in honoring her free will choice, God authorized off-planet helpers to use their technology to prevent all such unconscionable attempts anywhere in the world. Since then they have done so successfully on as many as a dozen occasions.

Let us speak of this moment. The activity in Earth's energy field of potential is in as much foment as we have ever seen, with ever-increasing light streamers to preclude more zig-zagging of the kind the dark ones have been causing by lashing out in all directions in deepening desperation and fear. These Earth puppets of the darkness have been seeing their power erode to the extent that it is "do or die" time, and despite their failure in plot after plot, they feel that they still have a chance to prevail if they can prevent both of the following scenarios that indeed will be "very substantial and disruptive" events. They cannot prevent either.

First, the undeniable presence of other civilizations. If safety cannot be assured for people on the planet and souls in the star nations themselves for their announced appearance October 14, the delay in that occurrence would not be lengthy--simply, the time for this has come. And when it happens, it will be extremely disruptive especially within the US government, which long has been under Illuminati control and thus denied even the possibility of other civilizations' existence, much less admit that extraterrestrials have met with its leaders and the consequences meted out to those beings who came with only peaceful intentions. Second, the truth about who planned and executed "9/11." In the higher vibrations in which Earth is now orbiting, that truth cannot be hidden much longer; when it emerges along with its even deeper purpose than controlling oil resources in the Mideast, which is to dominate the entire planet and kill or enslave its peoples, the Illuminati's long reign of terror will meet its just end. The global impact of these two major events is part of the ongoing world transformation and spiritual renewal of Earth's humankind, the God-blessed "ascension" joint venture with your space brotherhood that all of you on the planet chose in pre-birth agreements to be participants.

It is equally important that you know what other individuals who also have the ability to tap into the collective consciousness are seeing. Many are accurately seeing what we have described in Earth's Golden Age—the loving, peaceful life of all peoples, the restoration of your planet's health and beauty, the harmonious co-existence of humankind with all of Nature. In this wondrous Earth that is on the near horizon and already created in the continuum, there is no fear, no violence or greed or bigotry or any other divisiveness that thrives in a third density world. The choice is yours as to which world you want to be in, but because of our unconditional love for every soul, we pray you will choose the one of love and peace."

OMFG, now I know we are so DOOMED!

Duncan, if you haven't done so yet, order your heirloom seeds. Might I suggest winter squashes and pumpkins, which will keep all winter if stored properly, and carrots, that will (at least in our area) overwinter quite well.

I keep my seeds vacuum packed to make them last longer, too.

Headline: Self-Declared Debunker King Declares Doom

His Grandiose Highness, a self-professed cannibal who "eats woo-woo's for breakfast", has officially declared that Doom may exist.

Duncan, the Supreme Lord of the State of Arrogance in the Land of Denial, has been demanding for years that his lowly subjects bring proof offerings to the foot of his throne. The meager offerings have only received the sneers of the Demi-God King.

Those subjects living in the King's District of Self Importance, who have been repeatedly spat upon and subject to his derision and mocking, may now hope that they will be less persecuted because his Royal Blindness is finally getting a clue.

SIDE BAR to lowly subjects: Doom only exists in the areas where the Debunker King claims it does; therefor, you still need take extreme caution in expressing doom or conspiracy about things that are in his vast Land of Denial. Re: Is the Debunker King crazy -- or what??!!??
Duncan:
Heading to a third world economy, is not the end of the world. Yeah, it is rough, but other countries have survived it, and USA can survive it, too.

Some persons paint the picture, like some scene taken from Mad Max. It is not quite that dramatic.

Getting ready for tough times is always wise. Good idea to have simplify expenses and to find ways to provide our needs.

But, as important as the material preparations, is the ATTITUDE. That's what worries me, even more than the economy, about the american society.

A society that is not mentally prepared for a depression (of any kind) and has guns, is a very, very, dangerous society. Panic and the shock to live without the comfort that they were used to, may create much more problems, than the depression itself.

I would recommend everybody, to mentally prepare for this very possible tough times. It is not just about stocking piles of food in your pantry and piles of guns in your bunkers. It is also abou stocking tons of common sense and flexibility in your mind and tons of tolerance in your heart.

USA has an individualistic society. That is going to make it hard to adapt to possible adjustments like:

1. Parents living with their sons/daughters in a limited space and with a limited budget. Third world countries, tend to be "family oriented", not just because of social/moral reasons. The economical issue plays an important part and it takes a lot of tolerance, patience, consideration, respect, etc., to make it work. Everybody needs to learn to be considerate and supportive. The word "mine" is not as used as the word "our".

2. Community and unity is a "must" in a third world economy, exactly for what you said: Money is restricted. To be ready to trade services (example: One week the neighbor takes the kids to school, one neighbor fixes your roof, you fix his car, etc).

In order to be able to work as a community, all that bullshit of suing for stupidities or calling the cops because you can't tell your neighbor to turn his music down, has to stop. Communication and negotiation without 'daddy authority" needs to be learnt by americans again.

Kids need to learn to respect and obey their parents again, and for that, parents need to spend more time teaching them discipline and manners. Stop treating your kids like mini gods, and then complaining when they reach adolescence and they really believe they are gods and deserve everything without giving anything in return.

I keep reading threads here about "running to the hills" and "surviving" with this individualist mentality. That won't work. That separation will only get people isolated, irritable and frustrated...and armed. Not a good combination.

In a third world economy, the individualistic mentality is out of context. You need to learn to create at least mentally, a social/family/group mentality to make it work or all those 'survivors' in their bunkers, will end up killing each other, for fear of being "invaded" or "robbed".

Good luck to all of you.

I've been registered here since 2002, which is longer than just about everyone.

I have been debunking woo-woo crap from the first day I got here. Every time some bozo has said "the shit's gonna hit the fan", I asked for evidence as to why they think it will and never got an answer.

Six months ago, I noticed some changes and bought a little mini-farm in Gila County, picking it because it was about an hour's drive from home, pretty remote, and had a good producing well.

Three months ago I pretty much liquidated my 401(k) and paid my bills. This week I am moving a lot of my special belongings up to the cabin. My kids are ready to leave college and slide up for an "extended vacation" at a moment's notice.

I eat woo-woos and conspiracy nuts for breakfast and I've been doing it for years. If I say that thre's a good possibility that the excrement is about to hit the air-handler, then either I'm as crazy as most of you or else I have managed to connect the dots that lots of you haven't.

I'd suggest you look at some of the postings by folks like Underground Dude, Omega, Geogal, Evil Twin, and others. Here's a good place to start:

Re: Is the Debunker King crazy -- or what??!!??
I spent todays lunch hour picking up more ammo and will stop on the way home to get more water to add to the stock pile. I think so many can feel it coming. A week or 2 at most.

Re: Is the Debunker King crazy -- or what??!!??

Best post of the day.
