*Never say never, but in this case, this is a pretty damn solid NEVER. Civilization would have to be wiped out and a similar system instituted that didn't already know about the name being retired for there to be a future named storm.

I heard on the network radio news (2 a.m. EDT)that a hurricane is heading up the Eastern seaboard. Yes, it could hit New York. At this point nothing would surprise me. Financial crisis, Texas hurricane, political uncertainty - could be looking at earthquake NW United States soon. The only things missing is a pandemic and locusts. These are quickening times - scary and exciting all at once.
