if you don;t have alternative communications on already you won't communicate much anymore after this
everyone should have a 27MC radio at home

Would be better to have something that runs multibanded at least 3.5Mhz, 5 Mhz, 10 Mhz, 15 Mhz and yes 27Mhz. These would provide world wide coverage depending on power level and antennea and atmospherics. And you had better learn Morse code. A good code operator running less that 1 watt of transmitter power can work the planet at these frequences or around these... most of the time. CB is a start but go the HAM Radio route... to really learn how it all goes together and works.
