He kept agreeing with McCain and had a total look of"get me outta here" look on his face for the last 45 minutes. Obama's difficulty actually made me cringe a few times. |

Well, I think Senator McCain’s absolutely right that we need more responsibility … 2. Well, Senator McCain is absolutely right that the earmarks process has been abused … 3. And he’s also right that oftentimes lobbyists and special interests are the ones that are introducing these kinds of requests …. 4. Now, John mentioned the fact that business taxes on paper are high in this country, and he’s absolutely right. 5. But John is right we have to make cuts. [And then Obama refused to note even a single cut he'd be willing to make.] 6. Senator McCain is absolutely right that the violence has been reduced as a consequence of the extraordinary sacrifice of our troops and our military families. 7. And, John, I — you’re absolutely right that presidents have to be prudent in what they say. 8. Now, Senator McCain is also right that it’s difficult. 9. Senator McCain is absolutely right, we cannot tolerate a nuclear Iran. If McCain is right that often, why not just elect him President? |

A unique model of journalism, eh? |
Pollyannuh(nil) (OP) User ID: 46877 United States 09/27/2008 01:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Amen!! Mcbush obviously failed, A.C., in any attempt to cast Obama aside, and, in fact, displayed the utter vile baseness of his character in that he never once looked Obama in the eyes, or even turned towards him. Pschycologists will tell you that is the mark of a person who is a habitual liar, and someone who lacks the character to confront the person about whom he/she has lied. Mcbush is the last person in the world who should become president. In short, McCain tried to show us that Obama is weak and inexperienced; McCain failed to do this - proported 'strength' and experience are no subsitutes for discretion and open-mindedness. Anonymous Coward User ID: 478606 United States 09/27/2008 01:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Polly -- if the goal of the debate was to connect with independents, undecideds, swing votes, Obama did it on this first debate. The "John's right" was about demonstrating abilities to recognize mutual agreements and commonalities on some issues, the bringing-together-of , diplomatic abilities. That point got across to the undecideds. McC came across as a warmonger. That's not considered strength in today's climate. (The campaign's still got 3 more debates before the undecideds poll in. So far, so good !) |

Just stunning, and it shows the desperation of the Republicans. |

How can you support a liar, an admitted adulterer, an angry old man who apparently has NO respect for women (which I believe YOU are), a dog who has left his seriously injured wife in the hospital with divorce papers, ruined his marriage to a thief and drug addict? There's more, but I'm certain you already know that. Mcbush is the tool, woman. Wake up. McCain: 'When I was a tortured war hero in Vietnam - HE *points* dodged the draft!' Obama: 'I was only 14 when the war ended, John...' McCain: 'As I was saying...now I've been to Vietnam and talked to Admiral...whatshisname...Colonel Gook! And he told me 'John, even when we tied your arms and legs in knots, you still sang the Star-Spangled Banner - I have to admire your patriotism'. Cabin Boy Oba...I mean, Senator Banana is naive - he doesn't understand the sichewashun in Eye-ran...and his shoes are crap too.' Moderator: 'Senator Obama?' Obama: 'I would talk to our enemies, not alienate them, and...' McCain: 'HE funded Al Keye-da! And Iran's president Ahmadinadibad...Armybadabag...that Ay-rab guy to the tune of 70000 BRAZILIAN DOLLARS, stolen from those hard-working Americans that I can see from my penthouse window!' Moderator: 'Your time's up, Senator Obama.' Obama: 'But...' McCain: Ha, hard luck, Senator Horsesh*t!' |

One for the history books. There are those who are so entrenched, Sin, in the teachings and rhetoric of both parties that they fail to see the larger picture. WE have to save our country. Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 46877 United States 09/27/2008 02:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This horrible man, McCain, reduced the head of the POW/MIA group to tears during a congressional hearing, voted AGAINST the veterans numerous times, thwarted all attempts to find POW's and is still the subject of many questions during his time in captivity.
