Q.What's going to happen to my account? A. All deposit accounts, which include checking, savings, money market, CDs and retirement accounts, have been transferred to JPMorgan Chase Bank regardless of the dollar amount. No one lost any money that was deposited with WaMu. If you had a WaMu account, you now have an account with JPMorgan Chase. Q.What about my loan or mortgage with WaMu? A. All mortgages and loans have been assumed by JPMorgan Chase. Your payment amount and due date are the same. If you are having your payment taken out of your account, it will continue as it has in the past. You should send your payments to the same address you have been using. Continue to make checks out to Washington Mutual Bank. Q.What about my debit card and/or bill paying with WaMu? A. Your debit card will continue to work and bill paying will work as it has in the past. Q.Will I continue to earn interest at the same rate? A. JPMorgan Chase accepted WaMu's interest-bearing accounts, including CDs, at the contract rate; therefore, they are not waiving early-withdrawal penalties. |

People only care when it affects them, and none of this does, yet. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 488861Chase tells WaMu customers it's 'business as usual' Washington Mutual's collapse may have sent shock waves across an already very shaky financial landscape, but the bank's failure and quick buy-up by JPMorgan Chase & Co. will likely register as little more than a blip with area WaMu customers. "Their lives are going to be fine," said Christine Holevas, a JPMorgan Chase spokeswoman in Chicago. "It's business as usual: They will go to the same branch as they always have, they will pay their mortgages as they always have, and they will use the same online sites as they always have -- for now."
